This sprawling, 20-acre complex that encompasses several buildings is an older hotel, but the grounds are kept neat and tidy. For a 550-unit property, reception is a rather small space, though it contains a front desk with several agents and two concierge desks in a corner. It buzzes with activity all day, and it can get very busy at peak check out/check in hours. Other than the registration desk, there’s no central gathering place inside this family-centric property, and when guests aren't in rooms, they spend time at the pools, playgrounds, and at other outdoor areas. It's noisy at times here -- particularly in the evening when the Old Town shopping plaza next door is full of tourists. 

The hotel is located on busy E. Irlo Bronson Highway in Kissimmee, surrounded by restaurants, other hotels, and tourist shops that are a brief walk away. It’s next door to Old Town and the Fun Spot America amusement parks that are filled with shops, rides, and restaurants. Disney World is an 11-minute drive or shuttle ride away on the hotel’s free shuttle. Epcot Center is an eight-minute drive from the hotel, while Universal Studios and Orlando International Airport are about 25 minutes away.

The renovated suites are pleasantly decorated in soft earth tones, but still offer basic accommodations. They have light-wood furniture, granite vanities and countertops, and tile floors instead of carpeting. The kitchen appliances also were updated. 

All suites are spacious and feature separate living rooms and fully-equipped kitchens, with full-size refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, cooktops, coffee makers, and dining tables. Superior (standard) suites can sleep up to six people, with combinations of King or Double beds, and Murphy beds and sleeper sofas. Two-bedroom suites can sleep up to 10 people, with the largest units featuring two full bathrooms. Other than the granite vanities, the small bathrooms look similar in both renovated and older units, with shower/tub combos with white tiling. While generally tidy, some past guests reported minor housekeeping issues that were more prevalent in older units. Amenities include two flat-screen TVs, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Suites closest to the busy road and Old Town tend to hear more ambient noise.

This 20-acre complex features lots of things to do, including three outdoor pools, one of which is more than eight feet deep at one end. A playground, sand volleyball, basketball court, putting green, and ping pong table also are outside. Inside, there's a playroom for small children, a video arcade, and a small, 24-hour fitness center that has a few pieces of cardio and weight-training equipment and free weights. 

For on-site dining, Express Café serves pastries, sandwiches, and empanadas, and a continental breakfast is available daily for a fee. Limited room service is also available. 

The hotel offers scheduled and free shuttle service to the Disney Parks, SeaWorld, Universal Studios, and Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores. Other amenities include a guest laundry facility with several washer/dryers, and a concierge desk that sells discount tickets to various attractions. The hotel charges a daily resort fee, and there are no elevators to the suites on the second floor. Parking and Wi-Fi throughout is free, and pets are welcome with a surcharge.
