Scene

This beach resort, with multiple pools, is popular with German tourists.

The map of the resort looks like a drawing of a village. You get an idea of how vast the facilities are from looking at an aerial depiction of the manicured gardens, with Greek sculptures by German artist Peter Muller, and numerous stylish pools for families and couples, including an Olympic pool for laps and a "village" pool with sea views. There are also three small kiddy pools, a Sebastian Kenipp foot pool, and a kids’ water playground pool. Indoors is a chic pool, with a pitched wooden ceiling and a hot tub near stained-glass windows.

A footpath cuts through the green grounds to a narrow sandy beach, with blue umbrellas, lounge chairs, showers and a changing room. Golf carts are available to help guests get around the property. Most of the guests are from Germany, and live entertainment is mostly in German.

Location

Tucked in the Mastichari fishing village

The Neptune Hotels Resort is less than a 10-minute drive from the fishing village of Mastichari, on the west coast of the island of Kos, one of the larger islands in Greece’s Dodecanese group. The Kos Island International Airport is 17 minutes by car. It takes about 20 minutes by car to travel to the town of Kos, where travelers can visit the Kos Town Castle, Eleftherias Square, and Knights of St. John. A bus stop is located right outside of the hotel. Car and bike rentals are available on-site and parking is free. The beach is two minutes away by foot.
