Capri by Fraser, Kuala Lumpur / Malaysia is a 33-story hotel with apartment-style rooms in the Bangsar South area, removed from most tourist hotspots. Opened in 2014, the property has a fresh, contemporary design, utilizing lots of light wood, neutral tones with pops of green and blue in fabrics, and leaf patterns. Kuala Lumpur is packed with apartment-style properties, but the Capri stands out for its modern facilities, range of leisure amenities, and affordable rates. The hotel sees a mix of families, couples, and business travelers, and this is evident by the outdoor pool and hot tubs, rooftop bar, kids' play spaces, and meeting rooms. The hotel starts on the 21st level, so outside noise is not an issue here. 

Capri by Fraser is situated in Bangsar South, a newly developed area in Kuala Lumpur with lots of modern office buildings, shopping, apartment buildings, and condos -- a popular area for expats. The number of offices nearby make it convenient for business travelers. Tourists, on the other hand, might find it difficult to reach popular sights. The buzzing shopping and dining area of Bukit Bintang is a 20-minute drive away, as are the Petronas Towers, KLCC Park, and Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. There is a monorail station an eight-minute walk away for those that don't mind a longer commute. It generally takes 45 minutes to get to Petronas Twin Towers in the center of the city via train. There are a few attractions that are relatively close by: Menara Telekom, an architecturally significant skyscraper, is a 23-minute walk from the hotel and Mid Valley Megamall is about a 30-minute walk. Kuala Lumpur International Airport is about 45 minutes way by car.

On the plus side, the hotel offers free shuttle service to area spots such as KLCC, Mid Valley Megamall, and Bukit Bintang.

The 240 rooms here range from studios to three-bedroom apartments, and all are done up in a contemporary, bright style. Expect modern light wood floors and furniture, big windows, and mostly neutral hues with pops of color in fabrics and decor. Books, vases, and curios add charming, home-like touches. The spacious units all have well-equipped kitchenettes with microwaves, stovetops, and coffee- and tea-making facilities, as well as dining tables and desks. All units have balconies and city views are lovely. Also standard are air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, ironing equipment, bathrobes and slippers, and electronic safes. The one- and three-bedroom unit have big living areas with couches and chairs. Bright bathrooms have rainfall showers, hairdryers, and upscale Malin & Goetz toiletries. 

There are ample features at Capri by Fraser to appeal to both tourists and business travelers. Certainly the most striking feature at this hotel is the rooftop terrace, which offers incredible city views, a well-sized infinity pool, private hot tubs, a happening bar, and faux-grass areas for lounging. Loungers line one side of the pool. U-Bar @ Level 33 opens in the afternoon and stays open until late, attracting both guests and non-guests alike.

The all-day Caprilicious restaurant serves international buffet breakfasts and a la carte lunch and dinner dishes. Food receives average reviews. There's also a deli counter where visitors can pick up coffee, pastries, and sandwiches. Room service is available. Club-floor guests get access to a lounge on the 32nd floor, where there are free all-day refreshments and pre-dinner drinks. 

There are a kids' playroom and game room with foosball and video games. A well-equipped, 24-hour fitness center has a yoga room, cardio and strength-training equipment, and a kickboxing area, plus sauna and steam rooms. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. Parking is free and there are free shuttles to nearby attractions.
