Unfortunately, evident wear and tear is visible throughout, and many past guests have complained of maintenance issues, such as hot tubs and steam rooms not working. This hotel doesn't live up to its advertised five-star rating, but affordable rates and an array of features still make it a good value.

Bukit Bintang monorail station is a four-minute walk from the hotel, and Kuala Lumpur International Airport is a 45-minute drive away. 

The 468 rooms here are spacious and attractive -- if a bit bland in some categories -- with entry-level units measuring 430 square feet (40 square meters). Expect mostly neutral-tone decor, except in red-and-white-themed Executive Suites, with largely traditional furnishings that are in need of an update and often showing wear. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in lots of light, and some offer scenic views of the city. Beds are comfortable, and sufficient amenities consist of free Wi-Fi, desks, flat-screen TVS, minibars, coffee- and tea-making facilities, closets with ironing equipment and digital safes, and bathrobes and slippers. Marble bathrooms are upscale, housing bathtubs and separating glass-walled showers, as well as hairdryers and ample free toiletries. Upgrades include suites with separate sitting areas.

The features at Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur suit the hotel's mix of business and leisure travelers. Outdoors is a lovely freeform swimming pool with a separate shallow pool for kids. Loungers, dining tables, and a shaded terrace by a bar are available out here. Inside, there's a spa offering a variety of treatments, plus separate wellness areas for men and women housing saunas, hot tubs, and steam rooms. However, many past guests have reported facilities not working or being closed. A decently equipped gym has cardio and strength-training machines, plus free weights. Guests in Club Rooms get access to a lounge overlooking a koi pond with free breakfast, afternoon snacks, and evening cocktails. Meeting spaces are also located here. Parking is free. 

Four largely well-reviewed restaurants are on-site, though many travelers choose to dine at one of the plethora of dining options just outside the hotel.Bistro 160 is the all-day eatery serving international fare; everything from pasta to pastries to Asian food are on offer here. Lai Ching Yuen serves Cantonese dishes for lunch and dinner, while Hanaya has Japanese fare such as sushi and teppanyaki. The Mill Cafe is open all day, and it has open kitchens preparing Malaysian and Middle Eastern specialties, plus other cuisines. Breakfast buffets here are popular. Room service is offered 24/7.
