There's no reception area at Il Sogno Bellagio, so agents meet with customers in a pre-determined spot and escort them to their accommodations. It can be a little hit-and-miss as to which unit you'll get, however. While most guests are happy with the quality and location of their designated apartments, one or two units fall below some customers' expectations. Clientele is mainly families with kids preferring the more independent self-catering options, as well as vacationing groups. 

All apartments are located in or within walking distance of Bellagio -- the pretty and often bustling town positioned on a peninsula separating Lake Como’s two southern arms. Bellagio offers plenty of authentic Italian eateries, craft shops, and boutiques, and there's also a ferry for access to other areas and towns on the lake. The nearest airports are Malpensa Airport and Orio al Serio Airport, both just shy of a 90-minute drive away. 

There are around a dozen units available, ranging from attic studio-style apartments for couples to three-bedroom apartments that sleep up to ten. Interiors can also vary hugely in style, from up-to-date contemporary decor to rustic and homey. Most accommodations offer lovely views over the lake and mountains, while a few just provide street, rooftop, or alley views. 

All have some kind of cooking facilities, from simple kitchenettes to full separate kitchens, but all come equipped with full-size refrigerators, stovetops and ovens, microwaves, and cookware, and some have dishwashers and washing machines. Air-conditioning is standard, however some guests have had issues with temperamental units. Separate lounges or seating areas all have flat-screen TVs, and Wi-Fi is free. Bathrooms are clean and tend to be well-maintained, most with either walk-in showers or shower/tub combos, in addition to bidets and simple toiletries; towels are also provided.

Il Sogno Bellagio doesn't have any on-site features -- there's no restaurant, pool, or fitness facilities -- and no common areas such as check-in or reception. Wi-Fi is included in all rates, as is the final cleaning of units, and some apartments come with off-street parking. Travelers with limited mobility should be aware that none of the accommodations have elevators.
