An adult-only property, the Apartamentos Panorama is particularly quiet, enhanced by its residential setting set back from the main strip, but close enough to have beaches, bars, and restaurants in walking distance. Its modern design is colorful and nautical-themed, from the restaurant's attractive blues-on-whites, to the lobby's semi-circular white banquettes topped by throw pillows with starfish motifs, blue-and-white stripes, and solid-red fabric. The freeform outdoor pool gets Mediterranean touches from terra-cotta tiling, and though dining furniture here is on the tired side, nearby box seating is more trendy. A mostly British and Irish crowd here join some local couples, plus small groups. For travelers that want self-catering facilities and don't mind walking to the beach, this hotel is an excellent value.

The hotel sits on a hill, a seven-minute walk to both Puerto del Carmen's Old Town and lively beach strip, where reasonably priced bars and restaurants sit opposite ocean-lapping sands. Note, return journeys are uphill and a bit strenuous, although taxis are cheap and plentiful. Whitewashed properties overlooking the Old Town's harbor are traditional, and the Playa Chica Beach here offers a quieter alternative to the main strip. Both are a seven- to 10-minute walk, or quicker drive. Home to Lanzarote's famous Fire Mountains, the volcanic Timanfaya National Park is a 20-minute drive away. A Spar supermarket is a five-minute walk. The hotel lacks parking facilities. Street parking is free, but can get busy in peak season. Lanzarote Airport is a quick 10-minute drive.

Self-contained Studios are contemporary and come in Economy and Deluxe categories. Economies are on the drab side, with slate-blue fabrics on narrow beds and speckled tile floors accentuating the budget feel. Adjacent living areas are more attractive and spacious, with seashell photography over sofa beds and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to furnished terra-cotta balconies or terraces. Upgraded Studios guarantee pool views, and road-facing rooms can be noisy. Larger Deluxe Rooms are more stylish, featuring bigger beds topped by slate-gray bed runners and throw pillows, ruby-red armchairs, lilac accent walls, and sleeker flooring. 

Alongside satellite flat-screen TVs and desks, all Studios have kitchenettes with electric stoves and kettles, microwaves, mini-fridges, dishes, and cookware. However, there are no phones, dishwashers, or air-conditioning, and only Deluxe Rooms have ceiling fans. Cream-tiled bathrooms are pristine, and have shower/tub combos, basic hairdryers, toiletries, and towels. Towels and sheets are changed during the twice-weekly housekeeping, although more frequent service can be arranged for a fee. In-room Wi-Fi is free, but there's a charge for the safe.

Palm trees, loungers and parasols surround the outdoor pool, which is open year-round, but unheated. Light-weight dining furniture here is on the tired side, but gets more modern toward the main building. There, crisp-white cube sofas, armchairs, and coffee tables sit under huge umbrellas. Poolside drinks and light bites are popular, particularly during happy hour. The restaurant's blue and white-clothed tables echo ceiling beams, and the buffet station's loud reds match edgy stools under hanging lamps at the bar. Pizzas, salads, and burgers can be served poolside or indoors, where breakfast is held buffet-style. Breakfast is at a fee and not very popular, but it offers scrambled eggs, bacon, baked beans, and sausages, plus an array of cold items, including pastries and fruits. The gym's red walls surround large mirrors, and a handful of cardio and weight-training machines are available. Reception can help arrange car and bike rentals. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
