The low-lying, white stucco buildings of the HD Beach Resort are reminiscent of a hotel in the Greek islands, and the lobby is modern and design-focused, with large glass installations and white columns supporting false ceilings with criss-cross designs.The guest makeup is largely international and while the resort does have children's programming, you're more likely to see couples on vacation here, especially outside of the summer months. Overall, the resort gives off a vibe of peaceful serenity; even when booked to capacity, there's little chaos or noise in public spaces.

The HD Beach Resort is located on Las Cucharas Beach on Lanzarote’s Costa Teguise, a short walk to a commercial area with plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars. There are options for diving, snorkeling, and other water sports at the beach. The immediate area is surrounded by other hotels, but the resort, including the guest rooms, remains peaceful and crowd-free, even when it's booked to full capacity. The nearest golf course is a 15-minute drive away and the Lanzarote Airport takes just under 20 minutes to reach by car.

The HD Beach Resort has 177 open and airy suites with pastel blue linens and upholstery inspired by the resort's seaside surroundings. Even the smallest room -- the Junior Suite -- is spacious. There's also a duplex (with its own whirlpool tub) and a children's suite that comes with baby essentials such as a bottle warmer, a puree blender, and a highchair. Rooms can be booked with a sea view and all come with a balcony or terrace. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, microwaves, coffeemakers, and modern bathrooms with bidets.

The resort has two distinct zones, one for relaxing and the other for more active pursuits. The relaxation zone is geared toward adults and has a freshwater infinity pool, Balinese-style sun beds, a spa, and a fitness room, as well as an adults-only lounge and a hot tub. The active zone is family-friendly and has a large pool for water games as well as a children's pool. The resort also has a small playground and a kids' club that's open during high season. There's also a jogging track and a tennis court on-site. The buffet restaurant is open for all meals and there's a reservation-only Italian restaurant open only at dinnertime. Activities include nightly entertainment as well as morning exercise programs such as yoga and tai chi classes. Parking is free and guests can rent a car or bike from the tour desk. There's also an airport shuttle that can be arranged through the hotel for a fee.
