Opened in July 2015, Jupiter Lisboa Hotel is one of the newer hotels on the block, though its original facade dates back to 1908. Inside, it's full of stylish and modern decor, from the bright white walls, polished tile floors, and vibrant cushion seats in reception, to the sanded hardwood deck and sparkling rooftop pool. The hotel itself is based on one of the most well-known Fado songs, "Lisboa Menina e Moca", and each floor is themed after a different lyric from the song. Interiors are full of natural light, white walls, and wall art stencils, including Fado lyrics. Each room category is a homage to a different area of the city and decorated with a corresponding color and large black-and-white photo of the area above the bed. Historic photographs of traditional Algarve fishermen can be found decorating the hotel's restaurant, which serves up classic dishes, and the spa's indoor pool has an underwater theme expressed through blue lights, blue tile, and dolphins decorating the interior walls. 

This hotel is popular among all types of travelers thanks to its location and features, though several guests have reported it to be noisy, especially in rooms facing the busy Avenida da Republica. 

Jupiter Lisboa is located in the city center's busy Campo Pequeno district. This area is known for the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, a park-set public center for the arts, and Praca de Touros Campo Pequeno, a small stadium that hosts bullfights. Underneath the Praca de Touros, there's a small shopping mall and occasional music gigs. This area is busy, noisy, and full of restaurants, bars, and activities. However, it's removed from most major attractions in Lisbon.

The Jupiter's 224 rooms are divided into six categories that are each themed to represent a different neighborhood of Lisbon. They also have large mostly black-and-white photos of their corresponding areas above the beds. Overall, the decor is stylish and contemporary, featuring sanded and polished hardwood floors, dark-brown furniture and light-beige chairs and couches. All rooms come standard with AC, drink-stocked minibars, nature-made toiletry and amenity kits, and smart 32-inch TVs with 90 channels, including free SportTV. There's also an electronic safe with a nifty power outlet on the inside, so guests can power devices while they are locked away. 

In lower categories, the main difference is the bed size (though all larger beds are made by pushing two doubles or singles together) and room size. Upgrades to Executive Rooms will add free coffee- and tea-making facilities, bathrobes and slippers, and premium toiletry sets, though these trade the shower/tub combos for stand-up showers. Junior Suites come with a sofa bed and additional TV, while Diplomatic Suites have a king-sized bed and balcony. 

Jupiter Lisboa Hotel has several quality feature, though its rooftop pool and bar is a somewhat rare find in the city center. Located on the eighth floor, the edges of the outdoor pool run nearly flush against a glass wall, giving the sparkling water the feel of an infinity pool. The small rectangular pool shares the sanded-wood roof deck with a collection of boxy, ultra-modern white furniture with beige cushions, a few short rows of white loungers, and seating for the adjacent bar -- which has a hip vibe and pricey drinks, and is open to the public. The on-site restaurant, Dom Alimado, has reasonable prices, and serves up Mediterranean fare and traditional dishes from Algarve. Lines can be long and the vibe can feel chaotic during breakfast hours, but the huge buffet is full of fresh hot and cold items. Half-board plans and 24-hour room service are available.

For anyone looking to relax, there's a state-of-the-art spa area, Blue Spa, offering treatments based off the principles of marine biotechnology, a swanky indoor heated pool with loungers and blue lights, and a top-notch hydrotherapy circuit consisting of steam baths, sauna, and relaxation rooms. There's an extra fee to enter the spa area and guests need to wear a swimming cap to get into the pool. Access to the spacious 24-hour fitness room with cardio machines and free weights, however, is free. 

The hotel also has three meeting rooms onsite with audiovisual and video conferencing capabilities, as well as free (open network) Wi-Fi, and laundry service.
