The Super 8 Motel Los Angeles Downtown is a budget-friendly hotel with a multi-toned stucco facade in a mix of green, yellow, and clay red for which the brand is known. Inside there's a large tile lobby with oversized, puffy leather couches and chairs, offering a space for guests to gather and lounge. Circular glass chandeliers hang from above and additional track lighting angled toward the corners of the yellow ceiling make the room warm and welcoming.

The hotel is located in downtown L.A. in an area with lots of restaurants and bars. While it is not the nicest part of town, it's perfectly safe. Dodger Stadium is a five-minute walk away and Hollywood, home to the Chinese Theater, the Dolby Theater, and the Walk of Fame, is a 20-minute drive away or a 45-minute bus ride away (on line 2).  It's about a 45-minute drive to Los Angeles International Airport, depending on traffic. 

The Super 8 has Double Queen and King Rooms, all of which are clean, surprisingly large, and brightly designed. The whole hotel has a yellow-and-green color scheme (which feels excessive, but does a lot of brighten up the place), and the rooms are no exception. Yellow walls have flowery paintings framed in green. Comforters are thin and also yellow and green. A multi-colored circle pattern on the bed scarves add a modern touch. Rooms also have desks, and separate two-person tables with uncomfortable wood-framed chairs. Rooms come with coffeemakers, mini-fridges, microwaves, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are simple and moderately sized, with yellow walls and wood floors. 

The Super 8 Motel provides a basic continental breakfast in its lobby every morning. There is also free Wi-Fi and free parking, though some spaces can be difficult to get in and out of as the lot is cramped. There's no gym, pool, or full restaurant.
