The BQ Hotel Apolo is a modern beachside hotel with a sleek, minimalist vibe and lively, but still laid-back, clientele. Children are welcome, but there are no activities or play areas set aside for them, and the overall atmosphere is more suitable to friends and couples on an adult beach getaway. There are no heavy parties going on, or late, raucous bar scenes. The Apolo is decorated in bright whites with turquoise accents, modern paintings on the walls, and interesting wooden sculptures on the grounds. The floors are light-wood laminate or tile, which gives the hotel a clean feeling, but can also look a little mass-produced and soulless. The bar is modern and spacious, with comfy white sofas and armchairs, and the occasional turquoise chair thrown in. There's a pool table inside, and a ping-pong table on the deck. The restaurant is also done in basic white, with plenty of outdoor seating, and a bright green patch of lawn and tropical flowers. The common areas are compact but cheerful, and offer a comfortable spot for resting up between walking (or biking, or rollerblading) along the lengthy beach or beachside promenade. Except for the sound of jets passing overhead on the way to the nearby airport, the Hotel Apolo is quiet and relaxing, with an upbeat vibe and a great location for exploring the area.

The BQ Hotel Apolo is located on a quiet street in the beach resort town of Ca’n Pastilla, just feet from sandy, somewhat rocky Ca’n Pastilla Beach. It's surrounded by apartment buildings and small hotels, and there's a beachside promenade that's great for biking, skating, running, and strolling for miles. Ca’n Pastilla is filled with bars, restaurants, and shops, but there isn't a huge nightlife scene. The party crowd heads down the road to Palma; Palma's town center is 15 minutes away by car. The airport, a 13-minute drive away, is just over a mile from the hotel, which sits under a flight path, so there is considerable jet noise, day and night.

The BQ Hotel Apolo offers Individual and Double Rooms as well as Suites, all clean, light, and airy with updated furniture and wood floors. Rooms have furnished balconies; those facing south or east have sea views, and are worth the extra expense, particularly those on higher-floors. Street-facing rooms are quiet, except for the jets passing overhead. But guest rooms are somewhat soundproofed. The decor is simple and super-modern, with white walls and turquoise accents. Standard rooms are small, each with two single beds pushed together to make a double, a narrow desk in white formica, and an open closet a few feet from the bed, which, when filled with clothing, may make the room feel a little cluttered. Bathrooms are tiny and spotless, with modern fixtures, and walk-in shower stalls. Standard amenities include air-conditioning, mini-fridges, safes, flat-screen TVs, and free toiletries. Some Double Rooms have sofa beds in addition to beds, and Suites have sofa beds and separate living spaces. 

The BQ Hotel Apolo offers free hot and cold breakfast to guests in the buffet restaurant, but gluten-free items are in short supply. A buffet dinner is also served in the dining room, on linen-covered tables, overlooking the sea; half-board options include breakfast and dinner. The snack bar on the sun terrace serves hot and cold dishes, drinks, and snacks during lunch hours. There's also a cocktail bar with plenty of comfortable seating, indoors and out. The outdoor pool is small but the rooftop view with the ocean beyond is lovely. There are sunbeds and white beach umbrellas for catching rays, and a chair lift for handicap pool access. During the winter months, there's a small indoor pool for guest use, as well as free spa treatments. A ping-pong table sits outdoors on the deck, and there's a pool table in the bar area. Car and bike rentals can be arranged on the premises, but there are cheaper places to rent bikes within a short walk of the lobby. One computer station and printer are available for guest use.
