Housed in a 19th-century building, the five-story Atarazanas Malaga Boutique Hotel is on a busy street with charming, vintage lampposts. Inside, the hotel has a small front desk tucked under a marble stairway. There aren’t many common spaces, aside from a pretty room with white ceiling beams and brick columns, where breakfast is served. Black tables and banquet chairs with crimson cushions provide a spot for guests, most of whom are couples, to sit and eat. In the back of the room, drinks are served at a wooden circular bar surrounding a column decorated with images of cherry blossoms. 

Atarazanas Malaga Boutique Hotel is situated between a cafe and a grocery store on a busy street with bustling sidewalks near the municipal center of the city. It’s less than a five-minute walk to Calle Marques de Larios, a pedestrian street famous for its shops, bars, and restaurants, and the beach is within a 10-minute drive. The Picasso Museum and Malaga Cathedral are about a 10-minute walk, and the airport about a 15-minute drive. The central train station is within a five-minute walk, and from there the airport is about an hour and a half ride on public transportation. 

Rooms are modern with light walls and marble floors. Furnishings include wooden desks and nightstands. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, minibars, and free Wi-Fi. There’s no wall decor, and some guests say the rooms are dark. Guests also complain of outside noise from the street and neighboring rooms. Bathrooms have marbled walls and floors, shower/tub combinations, and magnifying mirrors. Trendy toiletries include gel shampoo and sea kelp soap. 

There's no full restaurant at Atarazanas Malaga, but a breakfast of pastries, bacon, sausage, and fresh fruit is included in some room rates. The hotel has a small bar with limited hours, and an Internet corner with a laptop. Wi-Fi is free.
