Bottom Line

This large, upper-middle-range property offers amenities typical to an all-inclusive resort, but generic decor and the lack of standout features prevent it from enjoying luxury status. The 280 rooms are spacious and spotless, but offer unremarkable views and charges for Wi-Fi. The beach is a five-minute walk away, and an outdoor pool with waterslides, a spa with a hammam, a kids’ club, and animation teams ensure plenty for families to do on-site. Breakfast buffets, dinner restaurants, and a snack bar offer a wide selection of food, but most of it is mediocre. Guests are required to wear wristbands. The family-friendly vibe and affordability makes this a solid option for tourists with kids. As an alternative, the Hotel Cettia Beach Resort is quieter, directly on the beach, and adult-only in the summer.

Oyster Hotel Review

Grand Pasa Hotel

Scene

Modern and polished hotel gets crowded and noisy with vacationing families

The contemporary aesthetic here is immediately clear. Sleek black stairs at the entrance lead into the large, circular atrium that houses the bright lobby. Interior balconies overlook a space set with leather sofas and polished granite floors, and hallways on either side branch off into additional seating areas and outdoor terraces. Although everything here, from the fitness area to the restaurant to the spacious outdoor pool and lounging areas, is very well-maintained, most furnishings are rather generic. There's not much to make this property memorable. Still, it’s a clean and safe bet for tourists, and very often crowded -- and noisy -- with British families and children.

Location

Five-minute walk to beach, but not walkable to most Marmaris attractions

The hotel's location on a back street is five minutes from a main road with other hotels, restaurants, bars, so it's isolated enough to escape external noise. The beach is also five minutes away on foot. Although the surroundings are pleasant, the hotel's location isn't walkable to downtown Marmaris. Attractions like the Grand Bazaar, Marmaris Museum, or Marmaris Castle take about 15 minutes to reach by car. There are also frequent, cheap shuttle buses that go to and from the center of town, with stops just outside the hotel. There are free nightly shuttles to the main bar strip in Marmaris. Dalaman Airport is a about 90 minutes away by car. Milas-Bodrum Airport is a two-hour drive away. The hotel does offer airport transfers for fees.

Rooms

Standard Rooms and Suites with mini-fridges and balconies

Room categories are divided between Standard Rooms and Suites. Standard rooms sleep three and come with one double and one single bed, and are spacious and clean. Laminate parquet floors, light wood desks, and colorful suede seats add contemporary touches, but drapes and floral bedspreads look dated. Large Suites have separate living rooms and a tasteful blend of wooden furnishings that allow for a more sophisticated look.

All units include air conditioning, smallish flat-screen TVs, and safes. Charges apply for Wi-Fi, and even then, connection is slow. Tea-and coffee-making facilities are provided, along with mini-fridges stocked with bottled water.

Standard bathrooms are standard in size and straightforward in appearance with granite vanities and clean tiles. All have shower/tub combos with handheld showerheads. Toiletries and hairdryers are provided. Suites upgrade to whirlpool tubs.

All rooms have furnished balconies, but apart from those facing the pool, views are unexceptional.

Features

All-inclusive rates, outdoor pool with waterslides, spa with hammam, and kids’ activities

The all-inclusive rates cover meals, including breakfast at the hotel’s main restaurant (which also serves lunch and dinner). The space feels rather cafeteria-like, and although there is plenty of variety in the buffet, quality can be hit or miss. An a la carte restaurant serving meat, fish, and chicken dishes requires reservations for dinner. A casual, partially-covered snack bar by the pool serves drinks and a buffet of fast food fare like doner kebabs, pizza, chicken nuggets, and fries. The lobby bar is on the generic side, with plain sofas and minimal counter seating. The outdoor terrace bar is more appealing, as it overlooks the pool. Note that guests are required to wear wristbands, and there are fees for replacing lost bands and room keys.

A large outdoor pool area includes waterslides, beach volleyball equipment, diving boards, and tons of umbrella-shaded seating (that still gets occupied fast), plus a separate, small children’s pool. Loud music in the space can be disturbing, but makes for a vibrant atmosphere. There’s also a quieter, well-maintained indoor pool.

An animation team organizes frequent activities including pool games, karaoke, night shows, and mini discos. Arcade games and pool and ping pong tables offer additional recreation. A kids’ club has crafts, face-painting, and mini discos for children.

The gym is decently-sized and bright, and has a solid range of machines and equipment. The spa is well-loved by guests, with its variety of massage and body treatments, a hammam, and steam room. There’s also a hairdresser, a clothing store, and even a tattoo parlor.

Two event spaces are available for business conferences or weddings. Laundry service is available. Wi-Fi in common areas is free, but it only works adequately in the reception. There is on-site parking, which is rare for hotels in the area.
