AC Hotel Milano is housed in a narrow black skyscraper with dark, modern interiors to match. The decor throughout the hotel is heavy on black, silver, and mustard, and the lobby has a large abstract painting. The restaurant is spacious, with large windows and square metal columns that help brighten up the black and gray walls. It’s fairly stylish for a business-focused chain, and the atmosphere is arguably more luxurious than corporate, though tourists may not dig the somewhat business-y vibe.  

The hotel is surrounded by steel and glass skyscrapers in Milan’s business and fashion district. It’s right by the Milano Porta Garibaldi train station, from which guests can catch the Malpensa Express to the airport; the journey takes 40 to 55 minutes. It’s also a five-minute walk to the Piazza Gae Aulenti, a modern square named for the late architect behind Paris's Orsay train station (now the Musée d'Orsay). The piazza opened in 2012 and is home to the the Unicredit Tower, Milan’s tallest building. It’s a five-minute walk to the Corso Como shopping district, while the Duomo and other attractions in central Milan can by reached in 20 to 25 minutes via metro.  

The hotel's 160 rooms are spacious and sleek, with hardwood floors, gray and blond-wood walls, and sophisticated decor that’s heavy on black and gray. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, minibars, safes, bathrobes/slippers, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms have frosted glass doors, which might not be private enough for some guests, and transparent floating vanities and dark gray tile. Behind a glass wall is a walk-in shower and a separate tub. Note that lower-floor rooms can get street noise. 

The hotel’s restaurant serves a buffet breakfast for an additional fee and tasty Italian food for lunch and dinner. The bar serves salads, sandwiches, and snacks in addition to drinks. There is also room service available 24 hours a day. The mid-sized gym has a good mix of cardio machines, free weights, and other equipment, including an exercise ball.  There are five meeting rooms, the largest of which can fit up to100 people. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.
