The hotel sits in a residential neighborhood on a cobblestone street near the Nymphenburg Palace, shielded from the road and a nearby bike path by a large hedge. The lobby looks more like the entrance to an apartment building, consisting of a tiny narrow room with a small wood-and-granite front desk, a single wicker couch, a few palms, and a candy dish. There is a breakfast room but no restaurant or bar for communal gathering.

The hotel is on a quiet residential street about six blocks northwest of the central station, where trains connect to central Munich in about 15 minutes. There is also a tram stop a couple of blocks away that gives direct access to downtown. It is about  two blocks from the Hirschgarten, or Royal Beer Garden, the  largest "biergarten" in Munich. It is also within a few blocks of Nymphenburg Palace, a baroque castle with extensive gardens.There are a number of ethnic restaurants, some quite exotic, that are within easy walking distance. 

The 18 basic rooms include a few suites, with separate living and sleeping areas. But rooms and suites are pretty bare bones, and can be on the small side; not all have air-conditioning. The TV in the single rooms hangs over the bed via a small wall-mounted shelf. Industrial red wall-to-wall carpeting and laminate wood bed frames, closets, and desks make for a somewhat dorm-like feel in all the rooms. They all include minibars, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi, and some of the double rooms have couches and sofa beds. Bathrooms come with hairdryers and rain showerheads, and the larger rooms have full tubs.

The hotel offers free Wi-Fi, and there is an elevator (not always a given in small hotels). But there's no fitness center, and aside from a computer station, no business center, no restaurant, and no bar, and breakfast comes with a fee. But the hotel is clean, friendly, and accommodating, and close to public transportation.
