Sea Crest Oceanfront Resort delivers a budget-friendly Myrtle Beach vacation on the sandy shores of the Atlantic Ocean. The medium-sized property has a decent range of amenities that attracts families, which is great since the room decor and some public spaces, like the gym, are dated and receive cleanliness complaints. The lobby is more functional than a gathering space, as it’s a long and thin space with just a few woven chairs where guests can sit. The palm trees and blue and green accents convey a beachy atmosphere. While there is a small coffee shop where guests may interact in the mornings, it’s the indoor and outdoor pool decks that are most often crowded with guests. 

Sea Crest Oceanfront Resort is a 23-minute walk west of Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade. Most travelers are attracted by the beachfront location, though it doesn’t hurt that dining options and Family Kingdom Amusement Park are within a six-minute walk from the hotel. It’s a 10-minute drive to Broadway at the Beach and a seven-minute drive to Whispering Pines golf course. Myrtle Beach International Airport takes 10 minutes to reach by car. 

The rooms at this property are homey in style, but fairly dated. The yellow statement walls bring out the yellow in the turquoise carpet, while the orange circle-printed bed runner highlights the red in the cherry wooden furniture. The beach-themed artwork may not be an original idea among beachfront properties, but it does add a slight artistic element to the space. All rooms include flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, safes, and balconies. Standard Rooms are equipped with coffeemakers, mini-fridges, and microwaves, while Efficiencies have full kitchens with refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, ovens, sinks, and coffeemakers with Starbucks coffee provided. Bathrooms are underwhelming. They come with shower/tub combos, toiletries, and hairdryers. Take note that there have been complaints about cleanliness issues in rooms. 

Sea Crest Oceanfront Resort aims to provide a complete vacation experience with special attention paid to families. Beyond the beach that is just steps away from the property, there are nine water features that range from a water park to indoor and outdoor lazy rivers, pools, hot tubs, and kids’ pools. Guests don’t have to go far from the beach to grab food from the hotel’s oceanfront bar, which serves low-key meals and drinks. As far as breakfast goes, there’s a coffee shop that offers Starbucks coffee and light breakfast items for purchase. Though the equipment is dated, the gym has machines for weightlifting and cardio workouts. The mini-mart sells beach items and souvenirs, while the business center is great for those who need a desktop to work. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout, and one free parking spot is reserved per room.
