Built in the mid-1980s, this three-story motel-style building has had major interior updates, but the exteriors remain dated, despite some trendy additions such as barn lights. Once inside, the lobby imparts a contemporary feel, with wood-laminate floors and an earth-toned color palate with light blue accents on high-backed furniture. Overall, the vibe reflects the hotel's generic, chain status, and it's not particularly charming by Napa standards, but it's a good value for business travelers and tourists wanting something reasonably priced.

The Best Western is located at a major intersection right off of Highway 121. It's adjacent to a Denny’s and surrounded by other fast-food and chain restaurants. Highway 29 -- which connects all the towns in the Valley -- is just a five-minute drive from the hotel. The famous Oxbow Market, where artisanal farm products and wines from around the region are sold, is also a five-minute drive away. The San Francisco Airport takes around two hours to reach by car, depending on traffic.

The guest rooms have large flat-screen TVs, microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers. The decor has been updated with brown-and-cream vine-patterned carpets, but the furniture is comparatively staid, consisting of wood dressers and tables with brass-colored fittings typical to big chains. Work desks come with newer ergonomic roller chairs. Bathrooms have shower/tub combos, with separate vanities outside. King Rooms have over-sized armchairs with an ottoman, while Double Queens get a small table and chairs. Though rooms are well insulated from interior sounds, some rooms have balconies that get a lot of traffic noise. 

The hotel has a small outdoor pool and an even smaller hot tub in a courtyard area with a few tables and lounge chairs. Other amenities include a 24-hour business center with a printer and a small fitness room with several cardio machines and a weight training machine. Surprisingly, there's no restaurant or even a breakfast buffet here, though Best Western Rewards members can request vouchers for a free breakfast at the Denny's next door. The front desk also has some passes to free wine tastings, and there are some independent winery tours that depart from the hotel. Property-wide Wi-Fi and parking are free.
