Built in 2002, the Hilton Garden Inn Napa has a Tuscan-vibe with a Napa-related theme. Upon entering the hotel, the area’s wine history is displayed in a large mural of a man working in a vineyard. There are high ceilings, bright lighting provided by plenty of windows, and comfortable seating areas. Interesting globe-like chandeliers and gold colors are striking and perhaps unexpected for the chain property. Off the main room, a large leather couch faces a flat-screen TV and there are electric fireplaces. Free serve-yourself water and iced tea is available. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and quiet, a good fit with the wine country location. 

Located in the suburbs, the hotel is adjacent to the main freeway and a car ride away from most nearby attractions. Closest by is a commercial strip mall with grocery stores and coffee shops. There are more than 100 vineyards in both the Sonoma and Napa valleys within 20-minutes by car. The Napa Valley Wine Train, Alston Park, Napa Opera House, and the Oxbow Public Market are all about three miles from the hotel. Self-parking at the hotel is free. 

The 80 rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn Napa are decorated in a sophisticated and only slightly dated decor with modern amenities. Guests will be comfortable on self-adjusting Garden Sleep System Beds with plush white comforters. There’s an individual Keurig machine with coffee and tea pods, a mini-fridge, microwave, and free bottled water. Modern amenities include flat-screen TVs with premium channels and a clock radio with MP3 connections. Wi-Fi is free and papers can be printed remotely to a printer in the lobby. In the marble bathroom there are free Neutrogena bath products and a hairdryer. Suites have a whirlpool tub and a standing shower. Many rooms overlook the parking lot. 

An outdoor heated pool has lounge chairs and a hot tub. There’s also an outdoor patio connected to the lobby with tables and chairs, a large wraparound couch, and a beanbag game. Due to the hotel’s location facing the freeway, the views are either of the road or the parking lot. The small fitness center is open 24-hours a day and has high-tech cardio machines, hand-held weights, and exercise balls. Yoga mats and hand weights are available at the front desk for in-room workouts, too. The American Grill, a casual bistro, serves classic California food off of the lobby for breakfast or dinner. The wine bar is open nightly featuring wine tastings from the Napa Valley on Fridays and Saturdays. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
