The Doubletree Suites Hotel in Naples is a step above other hotels in its price range. From the grand lobby with high ceilings and chandeliers to the homey-feeling suites with wrought-iron headboards and bright walls, this hotel seems resort-like and relatively upscale, despite its location just off of a busy street (unfortunately, some suites look out onto the parking lot). The clean, secluded pool area sits right above a nature preserve, and the fitness center is small but modern, featuring cardio machines with attached TVs. Freebies such as Wi-Fi and parking are nice extras, as are the two on-site restaurants (one with outdoor seating).

The Best Western Naples Inn & Suites is not quite what one would expect from a budget chain hotel: tropical gardens complete with koi ponds, lend a boutique hotel atmosphere to daily activities like eating breakfast and swimming. For its size, the hotel offers an impressive setting with two pools and two hot tubs, mini golf, and a lovely outdoor patio. There are Standard Rooms with flat-screen TVs and mini-fridges, Suites with cozy seating areas, and Apartments with full kitchens; some have patios overlooking the pool. The hotel is within walking distance of a supermarket, and a short drive from beaches, Naples Pier, and downtown. It beats out the prices of beachside hotels, which can be twice the rate per night, but the rooms here could use a refresh.

This mid-range chain hotel offers clean, contemporary, and inviting interiors in Naples' Park Shore neighborhood, which is around a 12-minute drive to the downtown area and six minutes to the Clam Pass Park Beach. The 122 clean suites have living areas/rooms as well as kitchenettes with stoves, microwaves, coffeemakers, full fridges, and dishwashers -- but note that guests have complained of poor shower pressure. The hotel has an attractive outdoor pool and a hot tub with a poolside tiki bar. Freebies include a hot breakfast buffet and evening socials with beer, wine, and light meals. The fitness center is small and not very well equipped. For something closer to the downtown area, check out the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Naples, which also has a pool and offers suites with kitchenettes. 

This 124-room Holiday Inn Express is a good mid-range option right outside of Downtown Naples. Clean and spacious rooms feature updated, modern decor, while suites have even more space with separate living rooms and kitchenettes. The free breakfast offers a range of tasty options, including a pancake machine, though the dining area can get crowded. The hotel also has a beautifully landscaped outdoor pool area, a small fitness center, business corner, and meeting facilities. There's a handful of restaurants and shops in the surrounding area, though Downtown Naples is about a five-minute drive from here. Travelers seeking something closer to the Downtown area might want to consider the Bayfront Inn 5th Ave, which has similar rates, but is not as modern.

Cove Inn on Naples Bay is a two-pearl waterfront property with 90 rooms spread over two stories. The property is actually a condominium, and each room is privately owned and decorated by the owner, but all meet management's standard to provide creature comforts like flat-screen TVs and microwaves. All rooms have a balcony, some with a view of the marina and the bay. Guests give Cove Inn rave reviews for its waterfront location near downtown, its outdoor swimming pool, and tasty on-site restaurants, all of which make it an excellent value. But travelers that want more of a predictable chain-hotel experience could try the budget BEST WESTERN Naples Inn & Suites.

The Inn at Naples is a 99-room, mid-range property offering clean, modern accommodations that are quite affordable compared to nearby hotels. Guest rooms are spacious and colorful, with balconies, mini-fridges, and flat-screen TVs. With free continental breakfast and parking, an outdoor pool, and a pretty entranceway with colorful flowers and palm trees, the hotel provides a comfortable home base for tourists. A no-hassle hotel, it's in close proximity to points of interest such as the beach, downtown Naples, 5th Avenue South, and the zoo. The fitness center is very small, and there's no on-site dining other than breakfast.
