Originally built as a bridge tenders’ home, the Riverview Hotel retains much of its original charm. The three-story building has light-pink siding and white balcony rails. Vintage-inspired storm lights flank the entrance, while a wooden sign announces “Vacancy" or "No Vacancy." Inside, the lobby looks like a living room, with wooden dining tables where guests can order glasses of wine. There's also a small gift shop selling jewelry and T-shirts. Hallways are elegant, with chandelier lighting and gilded frames holding black-and-white photos. The doors to unoccupied rooms are left open creating a welcoming, homey vibe. With private cabanas at the outdoor pool, joint sessions at the spa, and an overall romantic vibe, the hotel draws mostly couples.

The hotel is located near a bridge that crosses the Indian River. Plenty of boutique shops and restaurants line the road leading to the beach, which is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The town is a popular surf destination, but it's less-crowded than Daytona Beach. The Atlantic Center for the Arts, home to a renowned artist residence program that hosts exhibits, is about a 12-minute drive away. The Daytona International Speedway and Daytona Beach International Airport are a 30- to 35-minute drive away, and it’s around an hour’s drive to Orlando.

The 18 rooms at the Riverview are all on the small side, but they're cozy and attractive, with elegant wallpaper or handsome wood paneling. White-rail balconies are furnished with a variety of chairs, benches, or loungers, and some rooms have French doors leading to the pool. All rooms have large, flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms have green- and cream-colored tiles with small, stand-in showers or shower/tub combos, terrycloth bathrobes, and L’Occitane bath products. Wine and water are available for purchase in rooms. 

The Riverview Hotel has a small, outdoor heated pool in a pretty setting with lounge chairs surrounded by potted palms and white cabanas. The spa has an outdoor space with a mineral pool and a waterfall pool surrounded by foliage, giving it an oasis-like vibe. Spa services such as manicures, massages, and facial treatments are available. Breakfast, which can include cereal, fruit, hard-boiled eggs, and cinnamon rolls, is part of the room rate, and is delivered to guest rooms every day. The hotel hosts wine tastings one night a week. Free bike rentals are available, and free parking is provided. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
