Bottom Line

The 121-room all-inclusive Alize Hotel is a contemporary upper-middle-range property on a main street in Oludeniz, just a five-minute walk from the beach. Light and airy rooms have mini-fridges, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and outdoor space, though some have dated linens. Families will be attracted to the hotel’s big outdoor pool with a waterslide, kiddy pool, and daily activities, while couples may prefer using the spa's gorgeous Turkish bath. A small fitness room is also on-site, and water aerobics classes are popular. All-inclusive rates include mostly well-reviewed fare at the buffet restaurant, snack bar, and poolside bar, plus there's an a la carte restaurant for a fee. The Alize is a solid family-friendly option, but couples may prefer the quieter Hotel Morina, which also has more stylish rooms.

Alize Hotel

Scene

Family-friendly property with traditional villas surrounded by lush mountains

The Alize was built in the traditional architecture of the region, as seen in its three-story white stucco villas with attractive wood accents and red-tile roofs. Interiors are mostly contemporary; the lobby has white seating and wooden coffee tables on top of beige tiling and surrounded by potted plants. Outdoors is more impressive, consisting of grounds filled with palms and bougainvillea, and surrounded by lush mountains. Views of the sea are available from certain vantage points, as are paragliders -- a common activity in Oludeniz. The large pool is the center of the resort, hosting a variety of activities for kids and adults throughout the day. The environment is casual and geared toward vacationing families, though couples flock here too for the lovely Turkish bath, bar, and nearby beaches and nightlife.

Location

Close to the strip’s action but far enough from the noise

The Alize sits atop a main street in Oludeniz, which allows it to be close enough (one- to two-minute walk) to the nightlife and amenities (restaurants, spas, and retail stores) of town, but just far enough from the noise. It’s a close five-minute walk to Belcekiz Beach, and a five-minute free shuttle ride to Sea Horse Beach Club. Guests can walk 15 minutes to the Sea Horse, but those that take the hotel’s shuttle receive free entrance and a lounger. It’s a 20-minute stroll to the famous Blue Lagoon. The town of Fethiye, with its castle, ruins, and amphitheater, is a popular attraction about 25 minutes away by car. Dalaman Airport is a little over an hour’s drive.

Rooms

Contemporary, albeit a bit plain, rooms with outdoor space

The 121 rooms have contemporary furnishings in a neutral-tone palette of tile floors, wood in different shades, and patterned linens that are a bit dated. They're attractive and bright, albeit a bit plain and lack much storage for clothes. All rooms have furnished balconies or terraces with views of the pool, mountains, or sea. Standard amenities include mini-fridges, free Wi-Fi, and 19-inch flat-screen TVs, which are wall-mounted above the vanity/desk. Bathrooms are more modern, some featuring black-marble sinks and gray-scale mosaic tiling in the showers, but all have hotel-branded toiletries and wall-mounted hairdryers.

Hotel keys need to be placed in a slot to turn on the electricity; this may mean a warmer room as air-conditioning won't run while guests are out of their room. Also note that there’s only one electrical plug for personal appliances. Most guests say the hotel, despite being close to nightlife, is surprisingly quiet. The only noise complaints come from being in a room by the bar. Family rooms are spacious, but a window seat is considered a bed.

Features

All-inclusive dining and popular pool activities

The Alize has a range of resort features for both families and couples. Though there's only one pool, but it's large and curvaceous, and has a waterslide. It's surrounded by a terra-cotta deck lined with yellow-cushioned loungers and white umbrellas. As the centerpiece of the resort, it's a lively spot with water aerobics, poolside activities, and a small separate shallow pool for kids. There's no beach on-site, but guests can walk five minutes to the beach or take the hotel's free shuttle to Sea Horse Beach Club for free loungers along the water.

A spa provides massages and beauty treatments, plus there's a Turkish bath with a gorgeous painted mural on its domed ceiling, marble sinks, and painted inlaid tile. For those seeking non-water exercise, there's a small gym with some older machines. A kids' club with an outdoor playground, as well as ping-pong and pool tables, are available as well. Wi-Fi is free throughout.

Alize has a buffet restaurant in a modern pavilion with a high white roof, plus an outdoor poolside terrace. The majority of guests leave the table satisfied, but some have remarked that the buffet food goes cool or doesn’t offer enough variety. A snack bar by the pool serves simple fare of burgers and pizza, plus there's an a la carte eatery for guests that want to pay extra. All local alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage are covered in the all0inclusive plan, but many have noted that the list is limited.
