Bottom Line

The 151-room, upscale Garcia Resort and Spa opened in 2014 and has a somewhat removed location on the Turquoise Coast, as it's a 20-minute walk to main Oludeniz strip. Spacious rooms are modern and air-conditioned, and all have generous outdoor space with spectacular views of the pool, mountains, and some of the sea. The stylish resort attracts even numbers of families and couples with its seven pools -- including a kiddy pool with a waterslide and a heated indoor pool -- an elegant spa with a hammam, kids' club, and gym. All-inclusive rates include the main buffet restaurant, an English Pub, and a la carte, though food receives mixed reviews. Shuttles to the beach are available but with limited service. Garcia Resort & Spa

Scene

Beautiful forested setting with distant views of the lagoon

The Garcia Resort and Spa is designed in the style of the local architecture; that is, it’s a three-story white villa complex with a red-tiled roof. Lovely balconies with blue-tinted glass railings -- mirroring the several blue pools -- provide a modern update and permit clear views of the surrounding Babadag mountains and the Blue Lagoon. Since the resort is set in a forest off the main road, it offers a tranquility few other hotels in Oludeniz provide. However, this also means a long walk or drive are required to reach area sites. Also note that an on-site entertainment team and music throughout the property can be somewhat loud during the day. There are pool areas that are quiet, though. Clientele is made up evenly of couples and families.

Location

A bit removed from nearby attractions

The Garcia Resort is located in a gorgeous pine forest off the main road that travels between Oludeniz Beach and Fethiye. It’s just a 10-minute drive to the beaches, and the hotel provides free, if infrequent, shuttle buses to Oludeniz Beach. There is a steep road leading to the beaches, which is walkable but not with children in tow. In the other direction, it’s a 25-minute drive to Fethiye, where there are a castle, amphitheater, and some ruins.

The hotel is about a 20-minute walk to the town of Oludeniz and a 30-minute walk to Hisaronu. Taxis will cut this time to about 10 minutes. Both of these towns offer restaurants, bars, spas, and retail shops. It will take a little more than an hour to drive to Dalaman Airport.

Rooms

Large modern rooms with outdoor space and gorgeous views

Spacious, modern rooms have white walls, wood floors that match the white-and-wood furnishings, and pops of color in the blue-striped bedding and somewhat psychedelic artwork. Rooms are moderately lit with backlighting along the edges of the ceiling and by sconces, while sliding glass doors let in natural light. All rooms have sizable furnished outdoor spaces with views of the pool, mountains, or sea. Some rooms have swim-up pools outside their doors.

Rooms come equipped with flat-screen TVs and DVD players, minibars with soda and water, and coffee- and tea-making facilities. Mirrored closet doors provide full-length views for primping, as well as free safes. The bathrooms have walk-in showers with both rainfall showerheads and handheld nozzles, too. The vanities hold an assortment of hotel-brand toiletries and adjacent wall-mounted hairdryers.

Features

Multiple restaurants, bars, and pools

The Garcia Resort has a plethora of upscale amenities to keep couples and families occupied. In all, there are seven pristine pools scattered throughout, include an indoor one with a large glass wall and one with two waterslides for kids. The outdoor pools are large curvy affairs surrounded by lounge chairs, tables, and umbrellas. The outdoor decks provide stunning views of the mountain range. For a beach day, guests can take the hotel's free shuttle to the public Oludeniz Beach.

The Ocean Spa is modernly styled with hints of Asian-inspired decor. In addition to massage rooms and a hair salon, it has a lovely Turkish bath with inlaid tile over the sinks. A well-equipped gym, kids' club, and daily activities are also available. Wi-Fi is free by can be spotty in certain areas.

Sophia is the main buffet restaurant, offering indoor and outdoor seating, plus stunning views of the mountains from both areas. The food at the Sophia gets predominantly positive reviews, though gripes of temperature and variety common for all-inclusive hotels are present. One restaurant offers a la carte service and another is the poolside snack bar, providing pizza, pasta, wraps, and the like.

Three bars are also spread among the property. The Garcia bar has a beautiful natural-wood bar with burgundy cushioned bar stools. One section of the nearby lounge offers Mediterranean-blue stuffed armchairs, while another provides the same hue in contemporary bar stools. The pool bar retains the color scheme with stylish blue-Lucite-backed seating. The 24-hour English Pub feels somewhat out of place with two billiards tables and checkered carpet in several warm earth tones.
