This Best Western is a bright, well-maintained airport hotel housed in a five-story purpose-built building with off-white and beige exteriors encircled by a large parking lot. Inside, the lobby is simple but cheery, with tile floors and orange-and-gray bench seating off to one side, plus a bright breakfast room in the back of the space. A pair of elevators lead upstairs to the rooms and the fitness center, while a wide door leads to a back patio area where the hotel's swimming pool is located. Though the hotel gets a variety of travelers, it's primarily geared to people transiting through nearby Orlando International Airport -- including families and couples -- who want clean, reliable digs at budget rates.

As the name suggests, the Best Western Airport Inn & Suites is conveniently close to the Orlando International Airport, a seven-minute drive away. It's situated just off the Martin B. Andersen Beachline Expressway, a toll road that connects to central Orlando. There are plenty of chain restaurants and gas stations in the immediate area. Further afield, it's about a 15- to 20-minute drive north to downtown Orlando. Universal Studios Florida takes 25 minutes to reach by car. Factor in about 30 minutes to get to the Walt Disney World Resort. An airport shuttle runs 24-hours a day, with hourly departures from early morning until late night plus on-demand trips during other hours.

This hotel offers a variety of large rooms with two queen beds or one king, plus suites, which are larger and add sofa beds, but don't have separate living and sleeping areas. All have neutral decor including beige walls and dark-wood laminate finished headboards and furniture spruced up with saffron-hued bed runners and throw cushions. Standard amenities include free Wi-Fi, small coffeemakers, mini-fridges, microwaves, flat-screen TVs, and irons/ironing boards, but no safes (though there is a safety deposit box at the front desk). Bathrooms are large, and come with granite countertops and shower/tub combos. Toiletries and hairdryers are provided.

This Best Western has good amenities for a budget transit hotel, starting with its large outdoor pool, complete with a handful of padded lounge chairs on the pool deck. However, there's no hot tub and it's not heated in the winter, when it can get just a tad chilly for swimming. There's a great breakfast lounge with a free hot breakfast including eggs, cereals, toasts, and a waffle-making machine. For working out, there's a fitness center with a couple of cardio and weight-training machines, but it's a bit small and needs air-conditioning. Other amenities include coin-operated laundry facilities and a small business center with a computer and free printing, and there's an ATM and soda vending machines in the lobby.  Wi-Fi is free throughout the property and there's plenty of free on-site parking.
