On 500 acres of landscaped grounds containing rolling greenery, stone pathways, and colonial-inspired buildings, this adult-only hotel lives up to its luxury claims. A huge infinity pool -- surrounded by fire pits and a pool bar -- looks out over the resort's gorgeous white-sand beach, and many of the on-site restaurants offer spectacular sunset views during dinner service. Other luxury features include an 18-hole golf course, a spa, a dive center, and round-trip airport shuttle to Exuma International Airport. A good number of the 245 rooms are right on Emerald Bay beach, and all include HD smart TVs, minibars, and MP3 sound systems.

Tiamo Resort

Andros, Caribbean

With 14 rooms and an isolated beach setting accessible only by boat or plane, the upscale Tiamo Resort exudes seclusion and exclusivity. Its excellent amenities include a private beach with kayaks, an infinity pool with stunning ocean views, and an open-air restaurant serving fresh seafood. The chic, airy private villas all have beachfront access, screened-in porches, garden showers, and nonalcoholic minibars, garden showers; some have plunge pools. Note that Tiamo Resort isn't fully all-inclusive: its rates include all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), soft drinks, Wi-Fi, non-motorized water sports, and a daily snorkeling trip, but not alcohol, room service, or extra activities, like scuba diving and boat tours.

Small Hope Bay Lodge

Andros, Caribbean

Located on Andros Island, a short flight from Nassau, Small Hope Bay Lodge is an understated, family-owned property surrounded by quiet natural beauty. It's a place for seclusion and appreciating the rugged nature: guests can usually be found on one of two beaches or going on excursions like diving, fishing, snorkeling, and nature walks. Small Hope's 21 cabins are squat, one-story wood buildings that lack Wi-Fi or TVs, but all have porches facing the ocean. Room rates include all meals and drinks. The food is simple but tasty with dinners usually consisting of a variety of salads, local side dishes like macaroni pie, and a meat and fish entree. There's a bartender pouring drinks in the afternoon, but guests are welcome to help themselves to drinks at other times of day. Given its features and beautiful setting, Small Hope has some of the best rates on the island.

Stella Maris Resort Club

Long Island, Caribbean

Located on beautiful and secluded Long Island, Stella Maris Resort Club is a mid-range resort with affordable rates for the area and a range of accommodations. The 27 beachy and spacious hotel rooms, cottages, apartments and villas have mini-fridges and air-conditioning, but no TVs or Wi-Fi. (Villas and apartments, ranging from one to four bedrooms, have full kitchens, as well as large living and dining areas and porches.) Stella Maris' rugged beach is scenic, but not swimmable; the hotel offers free twice-daily shuttle service to a swimmable beach, one of its many free activities and day trips, which include caving trips, sailing, biking, kayaking, daily snorkel excursions, and rum punch parties. Stella Maris has an all-inclusive package that includes three meals and three drinks per day (note that it is not unlimited alcohol).
