There's hardly any common space for guests to mill about at this hotel. The lobby's curved, white-lacquer reception desk has mod pendants with pink lighting hanging above, and there's a small seating area off to the side with a couple of bright purple chairs. The same fixtures can be found in the narrow breakfast room, which is a sleek space, but there's minimal seating. Expect to see a mix of leisure and business travelers here, who seek affordable and convenient accommodations on Paris's bustling Right Bank.

The hotel is located in central Paris’s 10th Arrondissement, on a busy road in an ethnically diverse, working-class neighborhood. It’s surrounded by beauty salons and fashion shops. Several restaurants also are nearby, including several Indian and Pakistani eateries that occupy the glass-enclosed Passage Brady, built in 1828. The landmark arcade is just steps from the hotel. The neighborhood is generally safe, but it can be desolate late in the evening after shops close. Two metro stations are within three-minute walks, and Gare de L’Est and Gare du Nord are within 10- and 14-minute walks, respectively.

Guest rooms were renovated in mid-2013, and they remain tidy and well-maintained. Decor is simple, but while spaces are sparsely furnished, there are enough design-forward details to make them attractive. All-white bedding is topped with midnight-blue pillows and throws, accent walls feature a subtle, floral motif, lacquer desks have attractive, modern chairs, and floors are sleek, grayish-brown laminate. Rooms lack AC -- a significant drawback -- and standard units don't have kettles like the Privilege rooms, but all units have landline phones, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are basic and have stall showers with removable showerheads, and chic, square wall-mounted sinks; some higher-end rooms add shower/tub combos and heated towel racks. 

While some rooms receive little natural light, others have French doors that open onto small balconies, which offer city views. Noise from the busy street below isn’t significant, but several past guests reported being able to hear their neighbors quite easily. Single, Twin (two twins), Double, and Triple (three twins) units are available. 

This small, no-frills hotel’s limited amenities include a breakfast buffet (not included in room rates) that offers cold cuts, cheeses, boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, and pastries. There are also soft drinks, water, coffee/tea, and snacks for purchase in the lobby throughout the day. Reception is staffed 24/7, and arriving guests must ring the front desk to secure entry. Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the hotel, but there's no on-site parking. Guests with limited mobility should note that three rooms on the sixth and seventh floors can't be accessed via elevator.
