- Located a five-minute walk from the iconic Moulin Rouge
- High-tech rooms include adjustable mood lighting and flat-screen TVs
- Snazzy bathrooms with rainfall showers and jetted tubs for two

Cons
- Little privacy in bathrooms
- Small rooms
- Breakfast not included; no full restaurant
Bottom Line
The 29-room Secret de Paris Hotel & Spa is an upscale boutique with Paris-themed interiors, located off the tourist trail -- but on the outskirts of the Pigalle nightlife hub. Rooms are geared towards romancing couples, with adjustable mood lighting and tubs for two, but some might be a bit too cozy (read: small) even for the loved-up. Rates are what you'd expect for Paris, and you get plenty of extras for your euros (sauna, steam room), but for somewhere a little less gimmicky, try the similarly-priced Le Grey Hotel on the same road.

Romantic, Paris-themed boutique

True to its name, the Secret de Paris Hotel & Spa is housed in a discreet, almost anonymous-looking corner building with little to make it stand out from its neighboring Haussmannian properties beyond its ground-level, rust-paneled facade. Inside, however, the Parisian theme of this boutique soon becomes evident in the bijou lobby, decorated with details from some of the capital's most iconic attractions; strains of Edith Piaf can be heard in the background. The vibe is playful, secluded, and a little louche -- perfect for younger couples coming to Paris for a romantic getaway.
Location
Set in the 9th arrondissement on the edge of the Pigalle nightlife district
The hotel is located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris on the edge of the Pigalle district, famous for its nightclubs and bars. It's a three-minute walk to both Liège and Place de Clichy Metro stops, which connect directly to most of the capital's attractions, while the Gare du Nord Eurostar terminal is a 10-minute drive away.
Rooms
Themed rooms with mood lighting and plenty of high-tech amenities

The decor in the hotel's 29 rooms is inspired by one of six different Parisian icons, from the Eiffel Tower to the Moulin Rouge (there is also a "Discovery Room" option where you can choose to stay in a different room each night). In-room tech is particularly snazzy, with adjustable lighting moods, free and fast Wi-Fi, multi-media players, and flat-screen TVs with over 50 channels, pay-movies, and on-screen apps. Bathrooms are also pretty special, providing chromotherapy tropical rainfall showerheads and jetted tubs (big enough for two) -- though glass walls mean little privacy. Rooms are soundproofed and minibars provide four free drinks.
Features
Sauna, steam bath, and free Wi-Fi
The hotel has no restaurant and only a small bar and breakfast area; however, room service is available for lunch and dinner until late. A small spa downstairs, where massages can also be arranged, provides a sauna, steam bath, and jacuzzi. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel and a loaner laptop is available. Guests can also crank up the romance and arrange flowers and champagne to be waiting in their rooms.
