Bottom Line

Seven Hotel Paris is a one-of-a-kind, intimate boutique in the Latin Quarter of Paris. Romantic rooms have science fiction-like details such as floating beds, LED fiber-optic lights, and windows that blur with a touch of a button -- though less than private showers may be a deal breaker for some. There's a (charged) breakfast buffet that receives good reviews and an on-site bar, but not many other features. Wi-Fi is free. Compare prices at Hotel Pas de Calais for a more convenient location (it's within walking distance of the Notre Dame Cathedral), but you'll lose the cool vibe found at Seven Hotel.

Scene

Futuristic boutique

Though kids are welcome at Seven Hotel Paris, the high-design concept and lack of amenities to entertain little ones makes this boutique a better fit for couples. As is common in Paris, the hotel is on the smaller side but it fits loads of art and cool design into a small space. The lobby includes a sleek white reception desk and hot-pink velvet sofa. The adjacent Seven Bar is spacious. Cool details include a wall made of mirrors and blue LCD lights along with silver orbs hanging from the ceiling. White bar stools are placed in front of the bar counter and clusters of high backed black chairs add an additional space to sit. The overall atmosphere is futuristic, but still intimate.

Location

Residential neighborhood in the Latin Quarter

Seven Hotel Paris doesn't have the most convenient location for walking but it's a good compromise for those looking to save some money and use public transportation. The Censier-Daubenton Metro Station is about a five-minute walk from the hotel's front door and the restaurant- and-shop-filled Mouffetard Quarter is only 10-minutes away. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is mostly quiet and residential. There isn't any parking on-site, though there is a paid private lot nearby.

Rooms

Designed for romance

There are 35 rooms and suites at Seven Hotel Paris with several distinct themes. The Levitation Rooms include beds that look as if they're floating into a dark, starry sky with LED lights. The 007 Suite pays homage to James Bond with masculine wood and dark furniture. Some rooms may be a little too over-the-top for all guests, though -- especially rooms without a wall between the shower and bed. Each room comes standard with a Nespresso machine, air-conditioning, and iPod dock.

Features

Breakfast buffet, free Wi-Fi, and a bar

Like most smaller boutiques, Seven Hotel Paris doesn't have the space for many features. The breakfast buffet gets good reviews for quality and quantity, though there's a charge regardless of whether guests eat it in their rooms or serve themselves at the lounge in the morning. The Seven Bar serves specialty cocktails and French wines but no lunch or dinner. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel. Guests can borrow laptops from the front desk. Massages are available on request.
