The DusitD2 Phuket Resort is a hip urban hotel on the busy Patong strip, but it doesn’t bring the hustle and noise of the city into its cool interior. The hotel’s inner courtyard is ringed with blue and white balconies, and looks a little like a cruise ship. The pools are small, and guests taking a break at the swim-up bar may find themselves splashed by a kids’ game of Marco Polo. The resort hosts bus tours, which means restaurants, pools, and D Bar in the lobby can get crowded and noisy. D Bar, however, is super cool and modern, with a huge cocktail menu, including some creative twists on the martini. There is a pretty wood deck where guests can sit on fiery orange bean bag lounges around a fountain for a time out. The rooftop pool is another peaceful spot, located three floors above the street, on a small deck overlooking the city. The DusitD2 is more of an urban hotel than a bona fide resort, but the kids and teen clubs make the place family-friendly, and the location is great for balancing city and beach time.

The DusitD2 Phuket Resort is located on a busy Patong city strip, surrounded by crowds, restaurants, dive bars, tailor shops, and taxi touts looking for a fare. The location is good for tourists and business travelers. Patong Beach is a quick walk from the property. Jungceylon shopping center, Bangla Road, and Bangla Boxing Stadium are all about a 15-minute walk away. Phuket Airport is 25 miles from the resort. 

Rooms at the DusitD2 Phuket Resort are spotless, large, and quiet, with furnished private balconies overlooking busy Patong. Rooms are bright and airy, with hardwood floors and pops of vibrant color, but lack authentic Thai atmosphere. There are nice touches, such as fresh flowers by the beds and large working desks. Bathrooms are modern, with large mirrors, and walk-in showers with rainfall showerheads. Studio Suite bathrooms have cool glass walls and gorgeous freestanding tubs. Amenities include 32-inch flat-screen TVs, DVD players, coffeemakers, toiletries, and bottled water. Nonsmoking and adjoining rooms are available upon request. Free, fast Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.

The DusitD2 Phuket Resort features two pools, including a small third floor pool with beautiful sunset views. The courtyard pool has swim-up and poolside bars. The Kids World and Teen Zone clubs are excellent, with funky hanging chairs, interesting activities, cool space-age seating “pods”, a pool table, foosball, and a princess room complete with costumes. The 24-hour fitness center is large but sparse. Flavours restaurant serves Thai and Western cuisine in a casual but stylish dining room, and the Grab and Go coffee shop offers pastries, gourmet coffee, and tea. D Bar is a stylish spot for a creative cocktail.
