The Rising Sun offers plenty of contemporary Thai character, including tropical flowers and palm trees, a courtyard with a lily pond, and gorgeous interior design featuring beautiful woods and jewel-toned Thai silks. 

The Rising Sun Residence is secluded on top of a hill overlooking Chalong Bay and the picturesque Chalong Temple spire. Phuket Town is a 15-minute drive away, while Patong Beach and Patong’s legendary Bangla Road nightlife are 20 minutes away. Golfers will find excellent courses within a 20- to 30-minute drive of the property. Phuket Airport is a 45-minute drive from the hotel, and airport transfers are provided. The hotel also allocates personal drivers to guests (who book their stays directly) for nine hours each day, which makes getting around Phuket a breeze.

Villas at the Rising Sun Residence, all freestanding, feel more like luxury vacation homes than hotel rooms. They come in two configurations: one-bedroom villas overlooking the pool, or three-bedroom villas with private pools and full-sized kitchens. Bedrooms are air-conditioned, but fans are used to cool the rest of the apartments. The decor is elegant and airy, with a contemporary Thai flavor, lots of windows, and interesting furnishings that vary from villa to villa. Amenities include home entertainment systems with flat-screen TVs and DVD players, safes, coffeemakers, and microwaves -- some even have rice cookers. Bathrooms are large and beautiful, with windows, and separate walk-in showers and tubs. 

The Rising Sun Residence features a pretty, freeform pool and whirlpool hot tub surrounded by lounge chairs. There's an on-site gift shop, Mong’s Gallery, featuring a variety of local handicrafts, and Wipa’s Thai Cuisine serves an authentic (and delicious) menu of Thai dishes. Guests who book directly with the property are treated to a private chauffeur each day, as well as free airport transfers. Thai massage, cooking classes, scuba diving, and market trips can be arranged for a fee and come highly recommended, and there is a private chef who will prepare meals in guest villas upon request. Wi-Fi is fast and free. There is no fitness center.
