This 32-room budget hotel is a little isolated from the main Patong area action, and a 15-minute walk to the beach. Suitable for singles, couples, and families, it's a bit no frills, but the rooms are clean and comfortable enough, and the price is the main reason for staying here (though those wishing to be away from the nightlife noise may also appreciate the location). There is generally no free breakfast, but an on-site cafe and nearby convenience store can tide you over. Free Wi-Fi, mini-fridges, climate control, and flat-screen TVs are perks. The small rooftop infinity pool with views of downtown Patong is the highlight.

The 20-room Palmview Resort is more of small and friendly budget hotel than a resort, set away from Patong's beach and town center. The location on a busy street over a mile from the beach is not ideal, but rooms are spacious and clean, with good amenities for longer-stay guests. Cheap rates reflect the setting and general caliber of hotel, though you might get slighter better value for your money at the nearby Valero Guest House.

Modern and sleek, the upper-middle-range Deevana Plaza Phuket Patong represents an attractive option, especially for families. Its location, set on one end of Patong, gives guests access to all of the nightlife and bustle the area offers, but the property itself is fairly well insulated from noise -- although sound from neighboring rooms and hallways is another story. The 249 rooms still look fresh following a 2014 renovation, and Family Room options give curtained bunk beds for kids. With a lively pool scene, a well-equipped (unsupervised) kids’ club, and a spa, this property hits all the resort highlights. For another family-friendly option in Patong, travelers could consider the Patong Paragon.

The Yorkshire Inn Hotel, Bar & Restaurant is a 63-room two-and-a-half-pearl option in the center of Patong close to Bangla Road, shopping, and the beach. It has a casual, laid-back vibe that's especially attractive to young people traveling in groups or individually. Rooms range from budget Standard Rooms with no windows to spacious suites with separate living areas and balconies. The restaurant and bar draw rave reviews, and the outdoor pool also is popular. The fitness center is remarkably well-equipped for a hotel in this price range. As an alternative, Amata Resort is another well-priced, central hotel suitable for guests looking to be near the party action, and all its rooms have balconies. 

The 277-room Holiday Inn Express Phuket Patong Beach Central is a mid-range chain option conveniently located close to the beach, restaurants, shopping, and the nightlife of Bangla Road. Rooms are modern and fresh, and they all have furnished balconies. Breakfast is free and gets mostly solid marks, and there's a laundry room on-site. The pool is a plus, and kids get their own pool with water sprays. The fitness and business centers are open 24/7. Travelers looking for more authentic Thai character could check out the Sawaddi Patong Resort, although it's not as centrally located and it's farther from the beach.  

Clean, mid-range, and modern, this is the newest of three Hemingway hotels in Patong and it's a great value for the discounted price. Located in the entertainment district, it's a little farther away from the beach than other hotels in Patong (about 15 minutes), but still convenient to most area attractions, including the Bangla Night Market and Junceylon. The rooms are not huge, but they're well laid-out and clean with terrific amenities such as flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, stocked minibars, and umbrellas in case it rains. There's a small but inviting rooftop pool with a few sun loungers and a poolside bar. The on-site restaurant is also a good deal, and room service is available. 

Removed from the buzzing center of Patong, the Little Moon Residence is a basic value property about a 15- to 25-minute walk from the beach and main cluster of restaurants, bars, and shops. The 38 rooms are contemporary and clean, albeit simple and somewhat bland, plus two entry-level units lack windows. All, however, come with air-conditioning, TVs, and coffee- and tea-making facilities, and most have furnished balconies. Those on the ground floor may experience noise issues. The lobby lounge also acts as a bar that serves breakfast and free coffee, and it's a popular hangout spot. Unfortunately, there are no other real amenities, aside from free Wi-Fi. For a slightly more central setting, consider the similarly priced Breezotel. 

A narrow hotel set on one of Patong’s main roads, the mid-range Aspira Prime Patong represents a sweet little boutique alternative to the mega resorts it neighbors. At just 55 rooms it has limited features and public spaces, but a small swimming pool, mini gym, and a breakfast room meet most guests’ requirements. Rooms are also rather straightforward, but they’re pleasantly done up in contemporary decor. Still, they are missing some of the standard amenities offered by other mid-range hotels, such as robes, slippers, coffee/tea facilities, and umbrellas. The central location, walking distance to both the beach and Bangla Road, means travelers are close to all of Patong's main attractions. Those looking for a boutique property with more punchy design could consider The Crib Patong.

Part of a budget chain based in Bangkok, the Red Planet Patong offers basic and modern rooms to young travelers looking to be in the thick of Patong’s beach and nightlife scene. Patong Beach is a short seven-minute walk away, and Patong’s nightlife hub of Bangla Road is 14 minutes away on foot. The 142 rooms are no frills, each offering little more than a fresh bed, a flat-screen TV, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. Notably, there are no phones, and the hotel encourages guest to use their app to contact the front desk or fellow travelers in other rooms. On-site features are similarly sparse. The hotel lacks a pool or dining facilities. Another inexpensive option to consider is the Aspira Prime Patong, which adds a breakfast room and a pool to its offerings, sometimes for lower rates.

The 35-room mid-range Sun Hill Hotel is a pleasant, tidy, family-owned and operated property built into a wooded hillside in one of the seedier areas of Patong that's a 15-minute walk to the town center. The hotel is pretty and clean, with an airy restaurant and small pool. Rooms are spacious and cheerful, with furnished private balconies; some have kitchenettes. 

The upper-middle-range Andaman Beach Suites Hotel looms over its neighbors as one of the few high-rises in Patong. It was built in the '90s before restrictions capped building height, and as such, it offers spectacular views. But the fact that it's an older building means some areas show their age and maintenance issues can crop up. Its 140 rooms are split between two buildings, the towering older building and a newer low-rise addition that lacks water views but offers fresher spaces. All come equipped with minibars and free Wi-Fi, and many have balconies. Two pools, a dining room serving all meals (breakfast is usually included), and an unsupervised kids' playroom are also on site. A sandy path connects the hotel to the beach, and loads of eateries and shops sit on surrounding streets. As an alternative, traveler could consider Deevana Plaza Phuket Patong, which is more modern.

The 131-room Sunset Beach Resort is a mid-range hotel across the street from Kalim Beach in North Patong. The resort has an outdoor lagoon-style pool with a kids' pool, a swim-up bar, casual seafront dining, and a kids’ club. Standard Rooms offer balconies with sea views, and Suites have kitchenettes and seafront balconies, though past guests have complained about cleanliness, noise, and dated decor. Be aware that the beach has a narrow shore and rough currents. Travelers might want to also check out the Grand Mercure Phuket Patong, which has more modern rooms. 

One of the older hotels in Patong, the mid-range Thara Patong Beach Resort & Spa isn’t fashionable or sceney, but it’s a solid resort that offers a decent value, especially for families. Its 180 rooms have modern amenities with flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi, along with mini-fridges. Families will appreciate the spacious Premium Rooms that can fit a twin bed next to a double, or the Suites, which provide two-bedrooms and a living room space that can sleep six. That said, some past guests have complained about spotty housekeeping and other maintenance issues. Two pools and two kiddy pools on the premises give plenty of space to splash around, and a kids’ corner and a spa offer additional perks. It's also a three-minute stroll from the beach. Families looking for a more modern resort with kid-friendly features should consider the Deevana Plaza Phuket Patong.

Bright, trendy, and youthful -- just like its guests -- the mid-range Crib Patong is a true boutique hotel in the heart of Patong, right near Bangla Road, the main nightlife artery of the area. Its punchy design is on display in all of its 85 rooms, complete with little balconies and strong, free Wi-Fi. The on-site restaurant serves up breakfast and lunch for a fee, and the entire building is capped off by a cute rooftop pool. While the pool and fitness center are petite, and the location can pick up some exterior noise, it’s a fun, fashionable option for those that want to be immersed in the Patong scene. Another nearby option to consider is the Best Western Patong Beach, which also has a fashion-forward look and proximity to Bangla.

Patong Paragon is a solid, dependable upper-middle-range choice. It’s enormous pool, criss-crossed with footbridges and surrounded by spraying water features, is a draw for vacationing families and couples alike, and the location, off to one side of bustling Patong and across a rotary from the beach is another. Its 121 rooms are spacious enough to comfortably fit families, and they're stocked with the expected amenities. That said, this resort is fairly similar to several others in Phuket and doesn’t offer anything above and beyond the usual. Past guests have also complained of hard beds and some maintenance issues. For another family-oriented option that’s right on the beach, travelers could consider Arinara Bangtao Beach Resort.
