Portraits of women who honor the spirit of Abigail Scott Duniway (a women's rights activist and novelist whom the hotel was named after) adorn each floor of the re-branded The Duniway Portland, A Hilton Hotel. The lobby has a classy look that's inviting: polished brown marble tiles give way to tufted leather chairs and Persian rugs on unfinished wood flooring. It has a hip ambience throughout, anchored by the popular Jackrabbit restaurant and bar, helmed by celebrity chef Chris Cosentino. The restaurant and bar interiors are meticulously decorated in an abundance of rich natural wood and retro lighting fixtures that create a warm vintage vibe. The hotel caters to business travelers and tourists who need to be downtown and close to public transportation. 

The Duniway Portland, A Hilton Hotel, is located on a tree-lined street in the heart of the downtown area, surrounded by restaurants and bars. Shopping and major attractions, including the Portland Art Museum, Nordstrom, and Rite Aid are within an easy walk from the hotel. It's a two-minute walk from Pioneer Square, a popular park featuring chess tables, a massive waterfall fountain, art sculptures, and a weather machine. Director Park, the MAX light rail to the airport, and street cars are within a four-minute walk. It's about a 20-minute walk to the Pearl District's shops and art galleries. The Oregon Convention Center (across the Willamette River) is about a 10-minute drive away, or a 13-minute trip via the MAX green line (from the Pioneer Courthouse stop). Expect a 25- to 35-minute drive to Portland International Airport, depending on traffic. 

The hotel has 327 upscale rooms decorated with a contemporary decor of patterned carpets and light gray walls outlined in white and black molding. Nature and wildlife-themed prints of stylized elk and cut wooden logs adorn the walls. More eccentric touches, like wallpaper with flowers and water fowl atop a geometric pattern, can be found inside closets. Standard rooms have singular king beds or two queen beds, sitting areas with small sofas, and either round stacking tables, or work desks with ergonomic chairs. Suites have separate living rooms with sofa beds, dining tables, and add second bathrooms. All rooms have laptop-size safes, mini-fridges, espresso machines, and 65-inch flat-screen TVs, but Wi-Fi is an extra fee (free for Hilton members and some upgraded rooms). The bathrooms have back-lit vanities (some have two sinks) and shower/tub combos with geometric wall tiles. Upgraded rooms are on higher floors with better views of the city. 

The best features here focus on food and drinks, which isn't surprising for a Portland hotel. Whole-animal advocate and Top Chef winner, Chris Cosentino’s Jackrabbit restaurant serves modern cuisine with a raw bar. The eatery focuses on Pacific Northwest ingredients, cured meats, and family-style plating. Highlights include a local stuffed trout, daily oyster selections, and the shared plate of braised rabbit with heirloom carrots and 80 cloves of garlic. The restaurant is open for breakfast (not included) and also has a late night menu. It has an adjacent cocktail and wine bar, which wraps around (up a few steps) into the lobby's coffee bar, which serves Vittoria Coffee and pastries made in-house. There's a heated indoor lap pool, and a modern fitness center with cardio machines and weight-training equipment -- both under renovation through spring of 2018. There's a business center with a pair of computers in the lobby, and the hotel has several meeting rooms. The ballroom that can accommodate up to 230 people. Self-parking and valet parking in a large covered parking lot are available for a fee.
