The CenterHotel Plaza is spread out over three separate but adjoining buildings, including a seven-story central building with large reflective windows. While the three buildings are host to very different style (and quality) of rooms, the common areas are consistent, with chic, modern lobby and lounge areas featuring lots of sitting areas and natural light. In one area, sleek wood floors meet fresh white walls accented with modern art, while gray upholstered couches are positioned around coffee tables and cylindrical black pendant lights. In a separate lounge spot, black leathery couches sit on a distressed, modern green accent rug, while a long fireplace lends a cozy touch. The lobby is also host to the hotel's bar, which includes a couch and a handful of tables where guests can relax. With its central location, this hotel is geared toward business travelers and tourists alike, and gets a fair deal of groups and families.

CenterHotel Plaza is exceptionally well-located directly on the town square in the heart of downtown Reykjavik. The bustling area is full of restaurants and bars, many just a minute's walk from the hotel. Guests can walk to the National Gallery of Iceland (seven minutes), the National Museum of Iceland (10 minutes), or the Sun Voyager Sculpture and the iconic Hallgrimskirkja church (both 15 minutes). Keflavik International Airport (KEF) is about a 50-minute drive, or guests can take an airport shuttle directly to and from the hotel for an extra fee. There is no on-site parking, but street parking and garages are nearby. 

The CenterHotel Plaza offers 200 rooms that range in size, decor, and quality. This is thanks to the fact that the hotel is spread over three separate but adjoining buildings, with room categories looking different in each building. The newest building is decidedly the nicest, with clean, contemporary decor. Dark wood furniture, streamlined platform beds, and gooseneck reading lights give the rooms a stylish polish. In contrast, the oldest part of the hotel has rooms that are more budget-looking and smaller. Rooms here have blond-wood furniture, dated gold bedspreads, and faded blue armchairs.

The hotel has mostly Standard and Superior Singles, Doubles, and Twins, along with five Triples and one Junior Suite. Interconnecting rooms are also available. Be aware that not all rooms are air-conditioned, and some rooms are signs of wear and tear with scratched or nicked furniture. Overall, though, guests find the rooms clean and functional. In-room amenities include flat-screen TVs, well-stocked minibars, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Bathrooms come with hairdryers and basic toiletries, but vary in style from dated to modern, and some guests complain that wet-room-style showers soak the whole bathroom. Rooms higher up and facing the square have nice views, but some guests prefer rooms at the back, which tend to be quieter. 

The CenterHotel has few extra property features, but its lobby is spacious and chic, with lots of lounge and hangout spots, including a lobby bar that offers a daily happy hour. The hotel also has a decent free breakfast buffet, though it's served in a dismal basement room. Conference and meeting space is available for rent. Reception is open 24-hours, and a concierge can help book tours.
