Housed in a former monastery that dates back to the 1700s, this charming hotel is cozy and classic. The lobby on the second floor features a beautiful vaulted ceiling with frescoes, plus sofas where guests can hang out. Rooms and apartments are spread over five floors served by two elevators. A highlight of the hotel is its lovely courtyard, with a central stone fountain flanked by tall columns. It's a quiet, relaxing place to hang out in the evening and have a drink and a snack from the bar, and guests also can have their breakfast there in the morning. A second terrace on the fourth floor provides another outdoor hangout spot. Despite its pluses, the hotel is fairly typical for central Rome budget and mid-range properties, and many interiors could use some sprucing up. It mostly draws couples and families on vacation, but groups and individuals also pass through.

This hotel is centrally located in the Monti district, a six-minute walk from Piazza della Republic with its fountain of Exedra and the Basilica of Santa Maria of Angels. Guests can walk to the Trevi Fountain in 12 minutes, the Spanish Steps in 15 minutes, and to the Coliseum in 20 minutes. The area is filled with shops, local restaurants, trattorias, bars, cafes, ice-cream parlors, pizzerias, and more. The exclusive Roman shopping areas of Via Condotti, Via Frattina, and Via Veneto are about 15 minutes away on foot. A metro stop is just a four-minute walk from the hotel, and you can also reach Termini Station in about 12 minutes on foot. The station connects in just over half an hour with Rome's main airport, Fiumicino, or you can drive to the airport in about 45 minutes. 

This hotel offers double, triple, and quadruple rooms, as well as studios and Family Rooms with kitchenettes. Because of the historic nature of the building, the rooms differ in size and layout. Rooms are spacious for Rome, and they feature classic decor that looks a bit dated, with old-fashioned bedspreads, dark wood furniture, patterned carpeting, and damask striped draperies. Standard features include air-conditioning, flat-screen satellite TVs, free Wi-Fi, safes, and minibars stocked with bottled water and soft drinks. Apartments have one or two rooms and add kitchenettes with stovetops, refrigerators, sinks, and dishes and glasses. Bathrooms are compact, with shower/tub combos, bidets, hairdryers, and toiletries. Views are of the city or the courtyard with its fountain and lush greenery. Keep in mind that rooms overlooking the streets are liable to pick up substantial noise. 

This simple hotel doesn't offer much in the way of features, but a breakfast buffet is served daily in a charming breakfast room with white tablecloths, pale pink wallpaper, and wood floors. Breakfast selections include scrambled and boiled eggs, bacon, sliced meats, cheeses, pastries, cereals, fresh fruits, yogurt, and juices. Room service is available. The breakfast room opens to a lovely cobblestone terrace with a bar surrounded by lush plants and flowers. Drinks and snacks are served there in the evening, and there's a selection of books that guests can borrow. Another terrace on the fourth floor is a relaxing place to hang out and take in the rooftop views. The hotel's meeting space can accommodate up to 80 people for social and business gatherings, and the dramatic two-level space has a circular staircase. An internet corner off the lobby has a computer and printer for guests to use. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, but it can be spotty in places. Small pets are welcome for free.
