Domus RomAntica is housed in a charming peach stone building with green shutters. Some guests have difficulty locating the hotel, as the building is also occupied by a coffee shop and offices. There’s a small, old metal cage elevator as well as marble stairs that takes guests up to the floor of the hotel. Reception is not available 24/7 and requires notification of arrival and departure times -- there’s a charge for arriving after reception closes. This is a small hotel with limited amenities, and there are no common areas. The hallways have textured tan walls, a rich red carpet, and dark wooden doors. Guests are primarily couples who are attracted by the convenient location and the elegant and romantic style of the rooms. 

Domus RomAntica is within walking distance of several historic sights. The Baths of Diocletian are a nine-minute walk away, while the Villa Borghese and its beautiful gardens are a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps both take about 20 minutes to reach on foot. Places like Fori Imperiali, the Colosseum, and Vatican City are a bit far to reach on foot, and it might be easier to utilize the city’s public transportation. The closest metro station is an 11-minute walk away, though there’s a bus stop only a minute from the hotel. Surrounding streets are filled with restaurants and shopping, providing entertainment day or night. Termini station, Rome's main train station, is a 15-minute walk away, while Leonardo da Vinci International Airport is about a 40-minute drive.

The guest rooms are elegant and classic, cloaked in creams and browns, with striped walls, velour bedspreads, and dark wood furniture. Sophisticated pieces like Neoclassical chairs and large headboards with brass edging, as well as red roses in vases, provide a romantic atmosphere. But decor overall can run a little dark, and rooms don't get a lot of natural light. All the rooms include flat-screen TVs, minibars (at decent prices), desks, safes, and flat-screen TVs, but lack coffee- and tea-making facilities. Wi-Fi is free, but guests complain that it's is slow and spotty. Bathrooms are small but refined, with brown and tan tile floors and walls, white porcelain square sinks, and small showers. They also include toiletries and hairdryers. Views are fairly lackluster; most overlook neighboring buildings.

This small hotel offers few features; there are no common areas to speak of, nor is there an on-site restaurant or bar. Breakfast vouchers are provided to two nearby cafes, though they're limited to simple items like a pastry with coffee or other drink. Breakfast can be included in room rates. There’s free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, however, complaints have been made concerning connectivity issues. No on-site parking is available.
