There's a lot to like about this small hotel, starting with its tiny and elegant courtyard entrance. The lobby is equally inviting, with modern white sofas that have red-velvet cushions, beautifully patinaed hardwood floors, crown molding, and high-end lighting and decorative accents. A pretty rooftop terrace with potted shrubbery and a table set under a wide umbrella is another attractive place to sit. With no common space in the annex, guests staying there might feel a bit isolated. Overall, both locations fit in seamlessly with the residential area, which is busy with foot traffic during the day. Clientele tends to be vacationing couples, and the hotel also attracts some families and other leisure travelers. 

Hotel Royal Court is located on a quiet residential street a few blocks from Termini Station. The property has the advantage of being close to public transportation while also remaining removed from the gritty vibe that defines the area immediately next to Termini. The shopping area on Via Nazionale is within walking distance, as are sights such as the Baths of Diocletian and the ancient museum at Palazzo Massimo. The Colosseum and Trevi Fountain are only two metro stops away.

While the 25 guest rooms housed in the main building are well-maintained and have some attractive details, such as parquet floors, handsome armoires, and striking gold damask wallpaper, the overall look is a bit dated. Bedspreads and drapes lean toward stuffy, and the few contemporary accents thrown in seem out of place. Decor in the annex's 12 units is more modern and mirrors the lobby's appealing style, with bright-white accents and abstract wallpaper, and they tend to be more spacious than guest rooms in the main building. Standard amenities include air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, safes, and minibars. Upscale bathrooms found in all guest rooms are a highlight, with white Carrera marble, pedestal sinks, and shower/tub combos (some have rainfall showerheads), plus bidets, hairdryers, and toiletries.

Hotel Royal Court has rather limited features -- there's no full restaurant or fitness center on-site, but the hotel's main building has a small courtyard and lovely rooftop terrace with seating. A daily breakfast buffet is available for an extra charge. Other amenities include laundry and dry cleaning and airport transfers (fees), which can be arranged by the 24-hour front desk. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
