It would be easy to walk past the Infinity Hotel Roma, on a lively pedestrian street off Via Condotti, and never know it was there. The low-key entrance between shops opens onto stairs up to the small lobby and reception area, and from there an elevator serves the next three floors. The hotel’s signature modern, pink-and-white aesthetic starts in the sleek lobby, its only common space. There’s a white marble floor, white armless chairs with pink rosebud pillows, and pink art on the walls. A small princess desk serves as a computer station for guests. A coffee table holds fruit and Italian dailies, and an espresso station is available 24/7. Check-in happens on a tiny mezzanine, at a desk shaped like the base of an ancient column. Another set of steps leads up the breakfast room, with white tables, pink velvet chairs, and chain chandeliers. A door looks on to the inner courtyard, with a faux-grass-covered platform and a wall of colorful hanging flowerpots. It’s a clever (and eco-conscious) ruse: more pleasant to look at than a concrete slab, but strictly ornamental.

Just off Via Condotti, on a pleasant, cobblestone pedestrian street with vendors and sidewalk cafes, the Hotel Infinity Roma is in the heart of the city’s historic center. In addition to the luxury shopping on Via Condotti, there are many restaurants, bars, cafes, and gelato shops within walking distance. The Campo Marzio neighborhood is a great location for those who want to explore on foot. Walking it’s six minutes to the Spanish Steps, seven minutes to the Trevi Fountain, eight minutes to the Pantheon, and 10 minutes to Piazza Navona. The hotel is an eight-minute walk from two metro stations, Spagna and Barberini, and a bus stop is two minutes away. By bus and foot, it’s 11 minutes to the Coliseum, 22 minutes to the Roman Forum, and 23 minutes to the Vatican. Termini train station is 19 minutes by bus or 13 minutes by taxi. It’s a 35-minute drive to Leonardo da Vinci International Airport from the hotel.

Rooms at the Infinity Hotel Roma are classic and elegant in white, with pink accents and beautiful wood floors. Beds have memory-foam mattresses and pillows, and headboards are graceful swoops with pink velvet trim. Rooms also have tufted pink velvet benches and good-quality wood furniture. Each comes with a Nespresso machine and an electric kettle, as well as a flat-screen TV. Inside the large armoires are programmable safes and minibars stocked with free snacks. Bathrooms are on the small side but clad in floor-to-ceiling Italian marble. Some have full bathtubs, others have large showers with both rainfall and handheld showerheads. The hotel's 23 rooms and suites are spread over four floors and served by a small elevator from reception on the second floor. Double rooms, triple rooms, and suites are available -- all uniform in style and amenities -- and many unusually large by European standards. There are some quirks: rooms on the fifth floor are under the eaves and have a skylight instead of windows, and some rooms overlooking the courtyard have glass doors instead of windows.

The Hotel Infinity Roma doesn’t offer any amenities or services beyond what one would expect from a small mid-range property. There’s no restaurant or bar on-site, but there are so many in the surrounding neighborhood that it hardly matters. The free, generous continental breakfast includes cold cuts, bread and rolls, cheese, boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, cereal and granola, cake, juice, and cappuccino and espresso. There’s even a soft-serve yogurt machine. A fresh flower on each table is a pretty flourish. In the lobby is a small computer station with a laptop available for guest use. There’s free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, and pets are welcome. It’s worth noting that porter service is available from street level to the elevator on the second floor.
