Suites Trastevere is located in a yellow building with green shutters that immediately calls to mind villas from the Italian countryside. A cool, vintage glass-and-wood elevator in a wire cage ferries guests up to the bed-and-breakfast, which is small, homey, and inviting. Quaint design features include wooden floors, light-colored walls, and contemporary Ikea-style furnishings. Common areas are limited, but there's a pleasant breakfast room with a kitchen and a dining table where guests can gather. Without a bar or restaurant, this isn't the liveliest of spots, but that's a major plus to the many couples, families, and groups of friends that pass through here. 

Suites Trastevere is located on a busy road near a tram and bus stop in the picturesque Trastevere neighborhood. This area is popular with tourists for its cobblestoned streets, medieval architecture, restaurants, and pubs. There’s a craft beer restaurant next to the hotel, and many more dining options in the surrounding area. The metro and most of the city’s sights are not within walking distance, though, and top attractions like the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, and Vatican City can be reached in around 25 minutes by using public transportation. Leonardo da Vinci International Airport is around a 25-minute drive from the hotel, while Ciampino Airport takes about 30 minutes to reach.

Each of the five individually decorated rooms at Suites Trastevere features a mural of an iconic historical attraction like the Trevi Fountain and the Coliseum. Some rooms are covered entirely by the colorful murals, including the ceiling -- it's a charming and whimsical look, for sure, though some travelers might find it a bit over the top. Rooms have wooden floors and simple furnishings like wood-veneer bureaus and small black desks holding flat-screen TVs. Platform beds are made with attractive neutral linens and white sheets. All rooms have minibars, free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, and bowls filled with candy. En-suite bathrooms are attractive, with earth-tone tiles and a surprising amount of space for a small bed-and-breakfast. Most have walk-in showers and all have rainfall showerheads, while the Colosseo Suite has a whirlpool tub. Toiletry kits are provided. 

Suites Trastevere provides a free breakfast that can be served in-room or in the breakfast room. It includes cakes, Italian meats, pastries with jam or marmalade, and espresso-based coffee drinks. The kitchen is open 24-hours and has free hot drinks and snacks like yogurt or fruit that are available throughout the day. The hotel has an Internet corner with one computer, plus Wi-Fi is free throughout. Airport transfers can be arranged for a fee and staff is helpful with advice on navigating the city’s transportation system. Cooking classes and tours can be arranged for a fee, as well as romantic packages including champagne and roses.
