Tango Hotel is a tiny, 10-room property that opened its doors in 2013. Named after the owner's passion for Tango, the hotel even has a large dance studio equipped with a mirror, while colorful contemporary artworks inspired by the popular dance decorate the walls of the breakfast room. The entrance to the hotel is through a large arched doorway of a handsome neoclassical building with wooden window shutters and a charming inner courtyard. In contrast to the 19th-century building it occupies, the corridors of the hotel itself are stark and modern, painted in bright pink and yellow, giving the space a bit of a youth-hostel feel. The property is popular with leisure travelers, especially couples, and also families. 

Tango Hotel is situated in Rome’s Prati district and close to Vatican City, which is a four-minute walk away. The area is also well connected to the public transportation system: Ottaviano metro station is a three-minute walk away, and many buses service the area. There are many restaurants to choose from in the neighborhood, as well as pizzerias, cafes, bars, and shops.

All guest rooms at the Tango Hotel are duplex-style, split between two levels, with bedrooms located on the upper level and a separate living area and bathroom downstairs. The walls are painted bright, contrasting colors, like pink and yellow or blue and white, and the floors are covered in wood laminate. Large, attractive photographic prints of Roman buildings and monuments decorate the walls. The large bathrooms are spotless and modern, with tiling in beige tones, vessel sinks, large walk-in rainfall showers, bidets, and L'Occitane toiletries, but their location on the lower level might be a problem for guests who prefer bathrooms adjacent to the bedroom. Each level of the guest rooms has an air-conditioning unit, and bedrooms have flat-screen TVs. All rooms also have sofa beds in the living spaces, minibars, and free Wi-Fi. Windows do not have external views, opening instead into the hall, but skylights ensure that rooms get plenty of light. Note that the stairs connecting the two levels may be a challenge for those with mobility issues.

A few little on-site features give this petite property an extra level of comfort and character. A free breakfast buffet is served every morning in a bright dining room overlooking the courtyard, with gluten/dairy-free options available. Guests can also help themselves to coffee and tea in the breakfast room, available throughout the day. The hotel has a large dance studio and a meeting room that can seat 20 to 30 people.
