The Rosenvilla is located in an exclusive, residential neighborhood and there's a small parking lot in front. Guests enter the grounds of the hotel under a canopy of vines. The lovely terrain includes many trees, rose bushes, various plants and flowers, a shallow pond with lilies, stone pathways, and tables and chairs below umbrellas. Guests must ascend a set of stairs to reach the front desk, where a staff member awaits wearing the traditional Austrian dirndl dress. The lobby includes a small gift shop in one corner and has a homey look. But there's little in the way of seating aside from one lipstick-red swivel chair. The breakfast room offers a better space to linger, with hanging white lamps, simple wooden tables, and roses as centerpieces. Note that there's no elevator on the premises, and upper floors must be reached using stairs. The romantic charm of the hotel feels particularly suited to couples who appreciate intimate atmosphere of this small hotel. 

Hotel Rosenvilla is located south of the city center. It takes about five to 10 minutes by car to reach the Old Town district and Mozart’s House. The Mirabell Palace and its gardens are about a 10-minute drive. Kapuzinerkloster monastery on Kapuzinerberg is an eight-minute drive. For guests who don’t have a car, there's a bus station next to the hotel, with the number-seven bus traveling to the city center in about 10 minutes' time. As for dining options, there's a Chinese restaurant one minute away on foot, pizza two minutes away, and a restaurant/bar that's only a four-minute walk. 

Rooms at the Hotel Rosenvilla manage to be both minimalistic and romantic. Decor varies, but most rooms are airy with white walls and bedding, bright red curtains, and abstract paintings on the walls. Some rooms have light wooden furniture, while others have glass and wrought-iron furnishings. Housekeeping forms the pillows into triangular shapes, and a pillow menu lets guests select their ideal stuffing. Room and bed sizes vary from Single Rooms to large Suites. Single Rooms make clever use of their space with built-in nooks for phones, TVs, and bedside lighting in white leather headboards. Double rooms have more space, while Suites have couches and small lounge areas. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, safes, and bathrobes and slippers -- a luxe touch. Suites also have DVD and CD players, and the Exclusive Suite has a stocked minibar. Note that rooms lack air-conditioning. But many come with either a patio or a terrace with light wicker furnishings. Bathrooms are quite spacious, with added shelves and lots of counter space. Some have showers with glass doors, while others have large whirlpool bathtubs along with showers. All are stocked with hairdryers and large toiletries.

The hotel’s main feature is its breakfast buffet, a large spread of homemade items from local farms and vendors. Though not free, it's quite cheap compared to other breakfast buffets in the area, and the hotel will provide gluten-free options if requested. On weekends, the breakfast lasts into the early afternoon, and diners can enjoy their dishes (including pastries, homemade jams, and organic eggs) on the lovely garden patio. Other features include a couple of bikes available to rent, and a gift shop with stuffed animals, beauty products, books, snacks and water, and cooking items for sale.
