Though the hotel could use a decorative revamp, it's fairly clean and well-kept and has lots of amenities. It's solidly geared toward tourists, especially families with children.

The BlueBay Beach Club is situated in a quiet area of San Agustin, on a gentle hillside that abuts the sea and includes access to a small private beach. Other resorts and apartments are in the vicinity, and a handful of restaurants and a market can be reached on foot in about six minutes. Playa del Inglés, with its beach, restaurants, and nightlife, is about a 10-minute drive. Gran Canaria Airport is about a 20-minute drive, while Las Palmas is about 40 minutes. A flying school adjacent to the property causes some noise, but most guests don't find it a nuisance.

Room size is a major selling point here, especially for families: The apartment-style units can host three to six guests depending on size. Rooms include terraces or balconies, sitting areas, and fully-equipped kitchenettes with tables and chairs, microwaves, fridges, burners, and cookware. Upgraded rooms might add balconies with whirlpools or hammocks, plus more living space. But, the rooms' "sound systems" are old enough to include cassette players, TVs are small, and international channels cost an extra fee. Other extra fees include those for use of safes and Wi-Fi.
