The Hilton Garden Inn Savannah Airport is bright and airy, with extra high ceilings and plain white walls with simple molding. The lobby is large, and welcoming enough, although there's an element of staging to the common area that can feel a little off-putting. For example, in the seating area across from reception, there's a modern bar cart topped with glass canisters of lemons and limes, and a few empty wine bottles. While the fruit adds color, the scene feels a little unnecessary and purely decorative, as the hotel doesn't host any happy hours. Other design features feel less stilted, such as the whimsical, white-on-black sketch paintings. There is also plenty of space for business travelers to work, including a cluster of wooden tables set with modern orange chairs, and a windowed corner where yellow-cushioned armchairs have laptop-size tables. The hotel's restaurant, the Great American Grill, has an open-air design with a modern, country kitchen aesthetic. With a mix of benches, round tables, and high-tops, this restaurant space draws groups of co-workers as well as diners. Outside, there's a red-brick patio with simple black furniture, surrounded by manicured, leafy trees and shrubs.

This hotel is a few minutes down the road from the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, and part of a large cluster of airport hotels of different brands. Not a particularly exciting part of town, the area has some gas stations and several moderately priced restaurants, including a grill/tavern and Ruby Tuesday. Downtown Savannah is about a 20-minute drive, making this hotel less convenient for tourists looking to explore the city. The hotel targets mostly business travelers and those seeking a place to rest near I-95. The Hilton Garden Inn has a free shuttle that travels within a five-mile radius of the hotel, though there aren't many destinations within those limits, other than the airport. 

Rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn are simple, spacious, and bright. Walls are painted in neutral shades and decorated with one or two prints, typically of a nature theme. The plain, wood furniture emphasizes function over style, and the bedspreads are a clean, crisp white. Beds are Garden Sleep System™ beds, meaning their firmness can be adjusted, and the plush pillows make lounging or working in bed a possibility. In each room, there are a good-size desk with an ergonomic desk chair, and a small, wood-and-leather reading chair, which resembles something found in a hospital room. All rooms are air-conditioned and have 32-inch flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, microwaves, and coffeemakers. Bathrooms are tiled in beige and white, decorated with nature prints, and have shower/tub combos and Neutrogena bath products. The hotel has many accessible rooms, in addition to extra-large Suites.

The Hilton Garden Inn meets all the expectations of its name brand. Typically serving business travelers, the hotel has a 24-hour business center, which is equipped to allow printing from guest rooms. The hotel has about 1,500 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, with simple, serviceable decor suited to board meetings and corporate events. There are a small, clean fitness center, and an outdoor pool with a hot tub -- which could use a new filter. The hotel's open-plan lobby restaurant, the Great American Grill, offers a reasonably priced breakfast buffet, and a la carte dinner of classic, American fare. For late-night snacks or microwavable meals, there's the 24-hour Pavilion Pantry. Limited room service is also available. Wi-Fi and self-parking are free.
