Seattle, within a 10-minute walk
of the Space Needle, Monorail to downtown, and other attractions of the Seattle
Center complex. The hotel has no restaurant and is short on facilities, but it
does offer a rooftop patio with excellent views of the Space Needle, Elliott
Bay, and city skyline. The 180 apartment-style rooms have plush beds,
free Wi-Fi, iHome docks, DVD players, flat-screen TVs, and kitchenettes. It's a good choice for travelers looking for comfort and
convenience. Another option to consider could be the MarQueen Hotel, which has a more historic look.
Scene
Modern Mediterranean-style interiors and rooftop patio with Space Needle views
The Mediterranean Inn is housed in an attractive
yellow-and-white building with green trim around the doors and windows, and a
row of flags above the entrance. Guests enter a lobby with a gracious
sitting area with wood furnishings and sofas. It has a Mediterranean vibe, with brown and gold colors, an elegant print rug, and framed pictures of Italian landscapes. Guests can sit and read while they sip free coffee, tea, or water
with lemon. There are also three stand-up PC stations in the lobby for guests. Guests
can also venture to the rooftop to sit and take in sweeping views of the city
skyline, Elliott Bay, and the Space Needle. The hotel tends to attract tourists, given how close it is to Seattle Center attractions and the Monorail to downtown.

Seattle Center complex, which includes the Pacific
Northwest Ballet and McCaw Hall (Seattle Opera), is a five-minute walk east.

Needle and Monorail, an eight-minute walk southeast, and the Pacific Science

Rooms
Modern Mediterranean-style rooms with kitchenettes, flat-screen TVs, and DVD players
The Mediterranean Inn's 180 rooms are all non-smoking. Rooms come in King, Queen, Double Queen, Double Full, and
Petite Queen categories. Rooms are fairly large, although those with two beds might feel a bit cramped. Decor leans toward a Mediterranean
style with a color palette of chocolate brown, beige, and red, with green
armchairs and cherrywood headboards and furniture. All rooms come with air-conditioning, desks, and ergonomic chairs, in-room safes, free Wi-Fi, iHome
alarm clocks to dock iPods, flat-screen TVs with premium cable channels, and DVD
players with free DVD rentals. TVs, at 32 inches, are a bit small, and some are placed at the side of the beds, which creates a somewhat awkward viewing angle. Kitchenettes have granite countertops, sinks,
mini-fridges, microwaves, coffee- and tea-making facilities, and free popcorn. Beds are comfortable, with pillow-top mattresses. Some rooms have Elliott Bay or Space Needle views, and windows can be opened. Bathrooms are clean, well lit, and have shower/tub combos but limited counter space.
Features
Fitness center and spacious rooftop patio with Space Needle views
The Mediterranean Inn has no pool or sauna but does have a small fitness center with a
stair-stepper, weight machine, treadmill, elliptical, and flat-screen TV. The
hotel's highlight public space is its superb rooftop patio, where guests can sit on Adirondack chairs and take in panoramic views of the
Space Needle, the sunset over Elliott Bay, and the city skyline. Bikes are available to borrow (free of charge) for jaunts around the area. The
hotel has a business center with three computers and a
printer, plus a meeting room, coin-operated laundry, and 24-hour front desk. There's no breakfast buffet and no on-site restaurant for lunch and dinner,
but there is an adjacent Starbucks, and numerous restaurants are within a
short walk of the hotel. The multi-level parking garage (for a fee) has direct
elevator access and in-out privileges. In-room Wi-Fi is free.
