This Radisson Blu is one of the more well-known hotels in Shanghai's busy city center. It's perhaps most famous for its revolving restaurant on the 45th floor, which is a destination for hotel guests, locals, and tourists visiting Shanghai alike. Overall, this is a business hotel, and it has the reserved vibe (and posh restaurants and bars) to match. Inside, the lobby has a classic look, with marble floors and columns and a mezzanine area with a balcony overlooking the main reception area. Some guests might find the muted gold ornamental touches and frosted green glass borderline gaudy, and while the space feels more dated than luxurious, it is well maintained and clean. The hotel attracts business travelers with its extensive corporate facilities, though it's close enough to some of Shanghai's most popular shopping areas that plenty of tourists stay here, too. If you're after something with more contemporary luxury polish, you can upgrade to the Park Hyatt Shanghai, which is on the other side of the Huangpu River and has amazing views to the towering western districts of Shanghai. 

The Radisson Blu Hotel Shanghai New World’s address is one of its biggest selling points. The hotel is right on Nanjing Road and less than a five-minute walk from People's Park (home to the Museum of Contemporary Art and the People's Square subway station). It's also right next to the New World Mall, which can be directly accessed via the lobby. There's plenty to see and do nearby, and the Nanjing Pedestrian Road is a great place for strolling past Shanghai's mix of colonial and contemporary architecture. You'll find lots of food, shops, and malls all around. The Bund is a fairly long 25-minute walk from the Radisson Blu Shanghai, but you can be there in 20 minutes by using the subway as well. The Jade Buddha Temple is a 15-minute drive or half-hour subway ride from the hotel, while Yu Garden takes about 45 minutes to reach by subway. Shanghai Pudong International Airport is a 45-minute drive away, without traffic, or 90 minutes by public transit.

The Radisson Blu Shanghai's rooms come in a wide range of configurations, though all have the same simple look. In fact, some might call the red-and-gold patterned carpets, dark cherry-finish furniture, and beige upholstered chairs a bit dated. The spaces are bright, and while some units lack windows or have poor views, others have huge windows with city views and a mix of soft recessed lighting and sconce-style wall fixtures, plus overhead lights with frosted glass covers. Blackout curtains come standard. Desks feature bright desk lamps and ergonomic chairs and wall art is kept to a minimum, with a few framed prints in neutral hues. 

Standard amenities include flat-screen TVs with international satellite cable channels, free Wi-Fi, coffee- and tea-making facilities, and minibars. Business Class rooms at the Radisson Blu Shanghai add access to the hotel's Business Class Lounge along with perks such as Nespresso coffeemakers plus early check-in and late check-out. 

Bathrooms are similarly neutral, but feature marble countertops and huge mirrors, plus makeup mirrors, hairdryers, scales, and simple toiletries. Entry-level categories have shower/tub combos, while higher categories have separate walk-in showers and tubs. Windows look out from the bathrooms into the main living areas of the rooms, but they have mini-blinds for added privacy.

This Radisson offers five restaurants and bars plus 24-hour room service and grab-and-go breakfast. Windows on the Park is open from early morning until well in the evening and offers extensive buffets for all three meals Monday through Saturday and for breakfast and dinner on Sunday. A la carte menus are also available. Mingxuan Noble is open for lunch and dinner and is designed for group lunches, with 12 private dining rooms and three different menus, which focus primarily on regional fare. 

For something extra special, Epicure on 45 at the Radisson Blu Shanghai is a revolving restaurant on the 45th floor of the hotel. Here you'll find Chinese, Japanese, Indian, and European options at lunch and dinner, plus set brunches with all-you-can-drink Mumm Champagne options available on weekends. There's also the all-day Lobby Lounge, which is open from early in the morning until late and offers pastries, coffees, snacks, and light meals along with drinks. For evening drinks, Sky Dome Bar on the 47th floor offers incredible city views from huge floor-to-high-ceiling windows and regular live music performances.

Recreation and wellness facilities at the Radisson Blue Shanghai are numerous and include Vita Spa, which offers facials, acupressure, and a range of massage modalities, along with a beauty salon and yoga classes; there's even an aerial yoga space. Guests can also avail of the fitness center, which offers squash, cardio equipment, weights, steam rooms and saunas for men and women, virtual golf, a room for playing the Chinese game mahjong, a snooker table, and a huge indoor pool with a high canopy ceiling, lounge chairs, and a whirlpool hot tub.

Business facilities here are excellent, with free Wi-Fi and a business center that's open seven days a week and provides useful extras such as binding and lamination and translation/interpretation. The hotel also offers 10 meeting rooms along with a Grand Ballroom -- wedding and meeting packages are available. There's also a Business Class lounge with free breakfast, free evening drinks and canapes, and meeting space.Other facilities include concierge services and express (three-hour) laundry services.
