Bottom Line

This tiny bed-and-breakfast -- which is run by a couple -- consists of two rooms only. Both are spacious and have a homey vibe. The property is situated slightly outside the center of Trapani; it is located about a 20-minute walk from the old town, and is near plenty of restaurants and supermarkets. Guests have made a point to say that while the location is not as ideal as some, the owners will readily provide transportation with advance notice. A great draw of the hotel is the lovely backyard garden and the adjacent terrace, on which a homemade breakfast that draws frequent rave reviews is served daily at no extra charge.

Scene

Intimate bed-and-breakfast style property with only two rooms and very personable service

Despite being situated on a quiet and somewhat bland street, the grounds -- and in particular the backyard garden that is replete with flowers and sitting nooks -- are especially inviting. Guests have commented that despite the slight distance between the property and certain points of attraction in Trapani, they experienced no problems getting around the city because of the owner’s willingness to transport them personally. Families and couples alike are drawn to this quiet bed-and-breakfast.

Location

Within a 15-minute drive of Trapani’s port

The property is located on a quiet residential street, somewhat far from the city center, and indeed has the appearance of a residence from the outside. While not completely ideal with regards to exploring the city on foot, many guests have noted that those accustomed to strolls should have no problem, and that the owners are willing to provide transportation personally, having even picked up passengers from the train station. The Trapani airport is around 25 minutes away by car; Palermo is about a 90-minute drive from the hotel. Several city beaches are within a 20-minute drive of the property.

Rooms

Tastefully decorated in a charming, homey style

These two spacious, attractive rooms have been artfully decorated in rich, warm colors. Tapestry curtains, colored glass lamps, and small oil paintings of the surrounding landscape are just a few of the decor highlights. Guests have commented positively on the cleanliness of the rooms, as well as the comfortable beds. Useful amenities include flat-screen TVs (albeit on the small side), free Wi-Fi, and AC. Each room also has a mini-fridge and a table with chairs. The Zagara is the larger of the two rooms, as it actually has a separate area for dining, which is also furnished with a couch.

Features

An exceptionally beautiful garden with a patio; loaner beach towels and umbrellas

The homemade breakfast, including bread made by one of the owners, is a perk often praised by guests, partially because it consists of excellent local products and partially because it is served on a delightful covered terrace overlooking the lush backyard garden. In the summer season, the owners offer one loaner beach umbrella per family and one beach towel per guest for use while at the beach. As is common with many bed-and-breakfasts in the area, the property lacks a pool.
