A friendly and welcoming atmosphere permeates this vibrantly-toned hotel, which is surrounded by beautiful, well-maintained grounds peppered with lush palm trees and flowers. The cheery, blue-colored front office building has a grass roof entryway. Inside, the small and functional lobby has a few brown wicker chairs, large windows filling the space with natural light, and a beige granite-topped front desk. Coffee and tea are a welcoming touch. Common indoor areas are limited, but there's plenty of space to lounge outdoors, including Tiki huts with grass roofs and seating. Guests should note that there are no elevators at the property and the front desk closes in the late evening.

The Tropical Breeze Resort is located in a lovely residential area of Siesta Key, within walking distance of restaurants, bars, shops, and the beach. The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, Sarasota Opera, and Marie Selby Botanical Gardens are a 15-minute drive from the hotel, while South Lido Park, Mote Marine Aquarium, and the Ringling Museum of Art are 20 minutes away. The Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport is a 25-minute drive from the property.

Standard Rooms, One- and Two-Bedroom Suites, and historic Beach Houses are available at this property; all have daily housekeeping. Each features colorful, beachy decor that includes tropical artwork and palm tree prints on couches and armchairs. Some color palettes are lively while others are subdued, but all have wood or wicker furniture, flat-screen TVs, and air-conditioning. Some units have kitchenettes with microwaves, coffeemakers, and mini-fridges, while others have fully-equipped kitchens with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Additionally, some have stackable washers/dryers, large outdoor pools, and patios with barbecue grills. However, some of the decor is a bit dated and certain units have old tube-style TVs and lack dishwashers. Bathrooms are small and fairly standard; some are more modern with neutral tile in the shower/tubs or walk-in showers, while others have vintage green tiling and white pedestal sinks. The three lagoon-style outdoor pools and two hot tubs are the major highlights of this resort, one of which has a rock waterfall feature. Pools are surrounded by sundecks skirted in greenery, with lounge chairs and shaded tables that provide seating. One of the pools also has a lovely gazebo. A free continental breakfast with coffee, muffins, tea, fruit, and juice is served daily, and there is a barbecue area with stainless steel grills and a large tiki hut that provides shaded seating. Free beach towels and chairs are available in addition to a coin-operated laundry facility, plus there is a shuffleboard court. Wi-Fi is free, as is outdoor parking. This hotel is dog-friendly, but there are daily fees and only two dogs under 50 pounds are allowed per room.
