Bottom Line

One of five hotels belonging to the sprawling, family-friendly Resorts World Sentosa complex, the 172-room Resorts World Sentosa - Equarius Hotel is the most tranquil of the bunch. Its picturesque location borders natural rainforest and secluded views from the rooms' balconies make it more conducive to romantic couples than others in the complex. The average room is huge and luxurious with rates to match, and some of the suites have windows with underwater views into the neighboring aquarium. Celebrity chef Sam Leong helms the sole full restaurant, and guests can wander to sister properties like Hotel Michael for more options and other amenities.

Oyster Hotel Review

Resorts World Sentosa – Equarius Hotel

Scene

The quieter luxury hotel within Resorts World Sentosa

Surrounded by tropical greenery, the Equarius Hotel has a more relaxed, grown-up atmosphere than much of the broader resort. From the subdued entryway and reception desk, the interior opens up into an airy lobby lounge with sculptural vines framing a towering a digital canvas that depicts a flowing waterfall. The space was designed to allow a maximum amount of natural light and large glass panels are used throughout the hotel to reduce energy consumption. The wooden ceiling fans here are made from the trees felled to make way for the building.

Location

On the western edge of Resort World Sentosa

The hotel is located in Resort World Sentosa, a huge entertainment complex filled with hotels, restaurants, shops, casinos, and clubs in western Sentosa Island. The resort is home to Universal Studios and Marine Life Park, and attracts families as well as a younger crowd looking for nightlife. Sentosa Island itself is located a 25-minute drive from the downtown area and is connected to mainland Singapore by the Sentosa Gateway. It is divided into two very distinct parts -- the tranquil, more secluded eastern half (home to golf courses, quiet resorts, and forests) and the younger, massive tourism-oriented western half, home to Resort World.
