The Shangri-La Hotel Singapore is a beautiful, luxury hotel where guests come for a romantic weekend or family fun; business travelers are also drawn to the hotel for its amenities, even if the location is far from most offices. The Shangri-La's location removed from the hubbub allows it to have expansive, lush grounds -- an impressive 15 acres that include a curvy pool with fountain features and pretty landscaping with tall palms. The calm, resort-like feel even extends indoors: The Garden Wing features a tropical interior garden with stone steps, palm trees, exotic plants, waterfalls, and a koi pond. Rooms are divided into three distinct wings. The Tower Wing first opened in 1971 and features a lobby with soaring ceilings and a bar serving snacks and cocktails. Most of the restaurants are also located in the Tower Wing including Shang Palace, an upscale restaurant serving Chinese cuisine, and Nadaman serving sushi and sashimi. Guests staying in the Valley Wing enter through a private lobby and are invited to an exclusive free breakfast. 

The Shangri-La Hotel Singapore is located in a secluded spot on 15 acres of land in a quiet, residential area without much nearby. It’s around a 15-minute walk to Orchard Road, lined with upscale stores and plenty of dining options, for those guests that don't mind a stroll. The subway is far away, and it’s a 15-minute taxi ride to reach Chinatown or Downtown. The Changi International Airport is a 30-minute drive away. 

Rooms are spacious and vary in decor; some are decorated in earth tones with wooden floors while others have a more traditionally elegant feel with gray carpeting and chandeliers. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, coffee/tea facilities, stocked minibars, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are spacious with makeup mirrors, digital glass bath scales, rain showers, separate soaking tubs, and generous bathroom amenity kits including Bulgari toiletries, mouth wash, and toothbrushes. Suites are available with extra indulgences like personal butler service or wraparound balconies with private hot tubs, barbecue grills, and lounge chairs. Guests staying in the Valley Wing receive perks like free breakfast and free non-alcoholic drinks out of the minibar.

For exercise, there’s an inviting fitness center with big windows and a variety of exercise machines and free weights, as well as four tennis courts. There’s a whirlpool in the spa, and massage and facial services are available. The hotel has a big outdoor pool area with a children’s pool, hot tub, and lounge chairs with umbrellas for shade. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
