Scandic No. 53

Situated in a seven-story building in the city center of Stockholm, Scandic No. 53 is a mostly hip and contemporary hotel. Inside, the vibe is trendy with the minimalist-designed spaces featuring a contemporary Scandinavian edge. Decor includes concrete floors, light gray walls, open spaces, large mirrors, exposed ceilings, a mix of modern and classic furniture, and cool wall art (including large Stockholm city maps). The restaurant and bar area is a fun space with various seating areas and modern decor. Seating options include community tables, booths, sofas, and more formal dining tables. Casual seating areas are also available on the outdoor terrace. The lounge area can get quite busy, with both hotel and non-hotel guests frequenting the bar. Scandic No. 53 attracts mostly younger tourists and a few business travelers looking for a central location in Copenhagen. 

Scandic No. 53 is centrally located in Stockholm, just a two-minute walk from the popular Drottninggatan shopping street. There are ample dining and shopping opportunities within walking distance from the hotel. The Hotorget metro station and bus stop is just a three-minute walk away and the Stockholm Central Station is seven minutes on foot. The trendy and lively nightlife around Stureplan Square is a 10-minute walk away. Old Town, along with the Royal Palace, is 15 minutes on foot or about eight minutes on public transport. Ostermalms Saluhall, a food hall from the 1880s selling various gourmet foods, antiques, and other specialties, is 11 minutes away (either by car or public transport).  The domestic Bromma Stockholm Airport is a 25-minute drive away. It's a 40-minute drive or half-hour on public transport to Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

The 273 guest rooms feature a simple and minimalist design that isn't quite as hip as the public spaces. Colors throughout are mostly gray and white -- a few are offset with a large, lightly colored painting. The rooms make use of the compact space by having hooks and hangers rather than built-in closets, and they feature a drawer under the bed for luggage storage. Room sizes vary from the small Cabin Rooms (with no windows) to the slightly more spacious (though still quite small) Junior Suites. Amenities in all rooms include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Tea- and- coffee-making facilities are only available in the Junior Suite and the Standard Plus Rooms are the only ones that include a desk and chair. Bathrooms include walk-in showers, hairdryers, and HTL toiletries. Bathrobes and slippers are provided in selected rooms. There are two pet-friendly rooms, 19 accessible rooms, and 19 allergy-friendly rooms available.

Features at Scandic No. 53 are kept to a minimum and mostly focus on food. The restaurant serves a free continental buffet breakfast, including gluten free and lactose free products, each morning. The restaurant and bar also serves a buffet lunch and a la carte dinner as well as hot and cold beverages. The lounge area includes secluded and comfortable seating areas with available outlets for casual meetings or work sessions. There's also a small mini-market in the lobby for light snacks, beverages, and a small selection of souvenirs. Guests get free access to a nearby fitness center. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.  There is no on-site parking available. Luggage storage lockers are available for an additional fee.
