Perched up on a cliff, the Capo d'Uomo has breathtaking views of the water and surrounding area from multiple vantage points. The salmon-color building is a unique circular shape and is surrounded by flowering trees and green grass. There's plenty of garden seating where guests can have breakfast, as well as canopy loungers and fold-out chairs on a terrace overlooking the water. A hammock and an eclectic saxophone-playing sculpture are both near the hotel's entrance.

The vibe is a romantic garden setting, easily seen in the lobby filled with pastel colors of pale pink and yellow and paintings of flowers and ballerinas. The restaurant is more bold, with stone floors and walls and red wicker seating. Steep stone steps, that could pose a problem for young children and those with disabilities, lead down to a rocky beach area. It's a pretty little cove but doesn't really lend itself to swimming.

The Hotel Capo d'Uomo is situated in the Tuscan town of Talamone. The rocky village is small and only has a few restaurants and shops, but is near many tourist destinations. The closest airport is Roma Fiumicino, which is an hour and 45 minutes away. It's a 25-minute drive to Orbetello, an hour to Saturnia, and 75 minutes to Siena.

The hotel has 25 rooms, three of which are junior suites. Due to the property's circular structure, the rooms are often oddly shaped and quite small. They have flat-screen TVs, dated bedspreads, and basic wooden furniture. The bathrooms are small but clean and have showers with a curtain. The sea view rooms are the best, as they come with balconies and have stunning views. Suites are better-suited for families, and have larger bathrooms with stall showers and spacious terraces with tables and chairs. The different bed areas in the suites aren't separated—note that double beds may mean two twin beds pushed together.

A quality breakfast buffet that includes coffee, yogurt, pastries, and cereal is free for guests and can be taken in the dining room or outside in the lush gardens. Access to a rocky but pretty cove-like beach area is a nice perk, but walking down the steep stone steps could pose a problem for some guests. Parking is free, as is Wi-Fi, but the connection in rooms is unreliable.
