Hotel San Roque is a cozy and charming boutique hotel housed in a beautiful 18th-century building. The building was originally built for the founder of the town and port of Garachico. The owners have put great importance into preserving the historical value of the building, even closing for four to seven weeks a year for renovations. Interiors include an interesting mixture of contemporary art, avant-garde design, and historical architecture. The central courtyard with scattered seating offers a cozy spot in which to relax, along with random nooks and crannies throughout the property to hide out in. The swimming pool is carved from volcanic lava, and while small, it's perfectly sized for the hotel's capacity. The Hoffmann Bar has a traditional lounge appeal with leather sofas, stacked bookshelves, artwork, and tray of liqueurs and spirits in the corner. Hotel San Roque is mostly frequented by couples; either those looking for a relaxing retreat, or for active couples who are in Tenerife for trekking, scuba diving, golfing, and gastronomic experiences.

Found among the cobblestone streets of the old quarter of Garachico, Hotel San Roque is located in a quiet residential area in the Isla Baja region, northwest of Tenerife. Garachico is a scenic village with loads of historical charm; it's considered to be one of the most beautiful enclaves on the island. It's a lovely village to aimlessly walk around in, with several restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops within close walking distance from the hotel. Santa Ana Church, San Miguel Castle, and the natural pools of El Caleton (popular spot for swimming and sunbathing) are all within a three-minute walk from the hotel. The beautiful Buenavista Golf Course, situated between the sea and the mountains, is a 16-minute drive from the hotel. The biggest park on the Canary Islands, Teide National Park, is about a 90-minute drive from the hotel. It's a 46-minute drive to Tenerife North Airport, and just over an hours' drive to Tenerife South Airport.

Each of the 20 rooms and suites at Hotel San Roque are individually decorated and all include cozy interiors with a combination of traditional Canarian design paired with more modern themes. Decor includes warm colors, dark wooden floors, Bauhaus furniture, and contemporary artwork. Beds are made with Vayoil linens. Each room has a different view, either of the old town, main courtyard, pool courtyard, or sea. Only the La Torre Suite has sea views and access to a private rooftop seating area with sun loungers. Features in all rooms include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, minibars, safes, telephones, DVD players, and free Wi-Fi -- there are no tea- and- coffee-making facilities available. Bathrooms include either walk-in showers and whirlpool hot tubs or shower/tub combos. Magnifying mirrors, hairdryers, and house-brand toiletries are standard, along with bathrobes and slippers. 

Hotel San Roque creates a relaxing and homey atmosphere throughout the hotel, with understated features and friendly service. The Restaurante Anturium serves a fusion of Canarian and Mediterranean cuisine; along with a large selection of local and European wines. Breakfast is included in all room rates -- including a full buffet for cold dishes and a la carte choices such as eggs and bacon. There's also the Hoffman Bar and Pool Bar; both serve drinks and light snacks. The outdoor swimming pool is heated year-round, and includes a surrounding sun deck with sun loungers and umbrellas.
