Bottom Line

Removed from the chaos of the island’s busier areas, the mid-range Samui Bayview Resort & Spa sits on a jungle-clad hilltop between Chaweng and Lamai beaches. The 52 traditionally decorated rooms and suites have seen better days, but they still offer rustic appeal and quality amenities such as flat-screen TVs, coffee- and tea-making facilities, and balconies. While the nearby sea is not swimmable, the resort offers two appealing infinity pools with stunning views overlooking the ocean. Also on-site are a restaurant serving Thai and international dishes, simple spa, and small gym and children’s playroom. Due to the lack of restaurants and stores nearby, guests should expect to spend a good amount at the on-site restaurant or on taxis. Travelers looking for a cheaper option with similar amenities should consider the Baan Hin Sai Chaweng Noi Boutique Resort.

Samui Bayview Resort & Spa

Scene

Rustic, slightly dated, hillside retreat with stunning views

Perched on a verdant hillside, Samui Bayview Resort's primarily appeal is its breathtaking views of the rocky coastline and sea below from rooms, infinity pools, and the restaurant. Unfortunately, the property it is a bit weathered and old-fashioned, albeit with some rustic charm. The resort is far from Samui’s party scene, and any restaurants for that matter, so the property is best for those seeking tranquility and likely to spend a lot of time on-site.
